Perfect? Really? Not having a pop, I just want to know how you've come to that conclusion.

If Lenny's first choice this window falls through (Sporar?) then this guy might do the job until next window.

Should certainly bang them in in the domestic comps, not so sure about Europe though.

We could really do with an experienced striker like the huns did with Defoe. Not necessarily Billy Sharp

Defoe is 37. If Sharp came in for 6-18 months and produced like he does off the bench I’d be happy.

    People need to be realistic.

Any player signing for us knows that Edouard is #1 and that is going hinder our options.

Sharp had a better than 1 in 2 record in the English Championship last season (23 goals from 40 games)

He's exactly the type of 2nd/3rd striker that we could do with having around. Experienced, Track record of goals, club captain.

Would he come here to be 3rd choice though when he can probably get more game time at Sheff Utd in a better league?

If this happens it won't happen until very last minute. If klimala offers enough from the start I'd say we will keep him Griff and edoaurd. If klimala is struggling over next couple weeks could see Lennon sending bayo and Griff out on loan and bring someone like sharp in on loan till season end ..

I think it's more likely he'd be 2nd choice til Polish Paddy beds in.

So far he's played a combined 290 mins for Sheffield United in the league, we could offer him far more than that. 20-30 mins sub appearances if Eddie starts, games against lesser sides if Eddie needs a rest. He'd get plenty of minutes.

I suppose if we gave him the amount of minutes Morgan was getting he'd be happy enough :giggle1:

Think he was captain there to be fair..

Don't rate him but he does offer that..

Still think Murray is more suited and clever as an all round striker for us though..

Don’t see the harm in a 6 month loan just in case it takes Patryk a bit of time to settle and with Bayo going out on loan.

As has been said, he’s a natural goalscorer.

I think his experience & attitude along with his goal scoring ability is a great thing to supplement the squad with. It’s hard to find all those qualities in the January window.

He can provide cover reasonably short term until the other options are up to speed & he won’t be throwing his toys out the pram if he gets limited game time.

I also think this is the most important of all our January’s in this run now.

Celtic, Derby County, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest are all interested in signing Sheffield United's English striker Billy Sharp, 33, but the player has the choice to stay at the club if he wants. (Sheffield Star)
