I took it completely differently. He seems to have an old head on young shoulders, realising what he has done wrong in the past and in the space of a few years has screwed his head on and won a contact at Celtic.

The technical/dribbling comment I did raise an eyebrow at though. Though, as has been mentioned, he has drawn comparisons with Vardy and Vardy is far from a technical dribbler.

Think Lenny wants a Gary hooper type striker in his side and sees this guy as someone who can provide that

I dont think its necessarily a bad thing that he has stated he isnt suited to a technical style. We have that in Edouard already and im sure they will complement one another when played together.

Players like Torres and Van Nistelrooy were not necessarily the most gifted technically, but they played with pace and power and it didnt affect their goalscoring abulities.

One things for sure he’s no very good at marketing.

Prior to the biggest move of his career he’s stated he’s not technical, shouldn’t dribble, terrible attitude and has the same taste in women as his granda.

I'm not saying he can't be a Hooper as his compilations certainly shows traits that he had (rolls defenders, bended runs, quick over 10 yards) but Hooper had shown far more to suggest he was a proven goalscorer. 30 goals in season 2008/09 (5th top scorer in League 1) and 3rd top scorer in the Championship in 09/10, ahead of Carroll, Earnshaw etc.

Klimala to date has 24 career goals, more than half of which were in the Polish 2nd Division.

He will still have a lot to learn in the game. I hope he hits the ground running but it's unquestionably much more of a punt than Hooper.

Although signing the 3rd top scorer in the English Championship would now cost you minimum £15-20 million.

The fact Genoa and Copenhagen were interested in him shows he's highly thought of.

Hopefully he will be announced shortly with Soro following closely behind.

Cohen and a CB thereafter please - not too much to ask for! We might even get Campbell on a pre-contract :60:

    That would all be ideal.
No idea why so many people are negative about him signing. Id rather him than Morgan upfront without even seeing the boy play. Lets just get excited about a new signing.

Was gonna say that hooper cost us 2.5 mill nearly 10 years ago this guy costing 3.5 mill mental how badly that epl has inflated things down south saying that Liverpool paid nearly 30 million for that big lump Andy Carroll who had a good season in championship (hooper ) had scored more than him .... just shows he was a bargain and should have got more than 5 million for him replacing him with griff for a million was not too shabby though

Got a good feeling about this one. Seems like a tenacious wee * - Nothing wrong with a bit aggression and bite provided it’s vented in the right way. We need someone up front who likes putting themself about.

Aye, the game has went silly.

10 years prior to that we were buying a former Premiership top scorer in Sutton and Hartson who was only a few goals behind, on the same as Hasselbaink, Bergkamp, Cole etc.

10 years later we were getting guys like Hooper from relegation candidates in the Championship and now even those are outwith our financial clout.

There's better value to be found elsewhere now though; McBurnie is evidence of that. He's a supposed £20 million striker and wouldn't get in the starting XI for ourselves or the huns.

I like the look of Klimala but this run-in is going to be very intense and a complete baptism of fire. I'd like an experienced player in as well that we can turn to.
