I think Jozo will be gone in January for around 6 - 7 million, so i wouldn't mind us taking Benkovic on a loan to buy if possible, he won't get a look in a Leicester now, especially with Soyuncu doing so well.

 

Hopefully sell jozo and sign Benkovic, not sure if Lennon fancies him but he would be a great signing. Only worry is his injury record.

 

His persistent injuries seems to be the main issue with him

He played back to back games in August for our U23s, came off at half time in the 2nd match and was out from then until the other night when he played 90 minutes in another U23 game, so hopefully he is over whatever injury he had

We have a cup game against a team 2 leagues below us next week, if he is going to get a chance to play for us it will be then, if not, I suspect he will very likely be on his way out on loan in January

However if Brendan and the club are still big fans of him, it is unlikely an option to buy will be part of any deal, unless it recoups the transfer fee (13m) and probably some profit and clauses as well

 

Him back up the road till the end of the season has to be the no.2 priority in January

 

Id be ecstatic if we got him back. The guy is a rock. If we paid £8m and gave them a buy back for £16m if they bought him back in two years and £20m+ if bought back after 3

 

Would love us to try but wondering if the big man will fancy even another country outwith Britain, might be a case of coming back is not an option as might feel after saying his byes and then coming back makes him a kinda failure.

He should have been loaned to us again in the summer, that * Rodgers probably never wanted to give us him. Was clear last season on loan at us that he was probably still a bit too thin and underdeveloped to play in the EPL and he'd need another season or two to bulk up and fill out into a proper CB.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has hinted that Filip Benkovic could be allowed to leave in January if "the right team" can be found.

The centre-back spent last season on loan at Celtic , but returned to the Foxes in the summer.


However, the Croat hasn't played a single minute for the Leicester first team and may be allowed to go on loan in January.

Rodgers said: "It depends. If there’s the right team for him and there’s the right possibility then of course we will look at that.

He stayed behind, he's offered us really good cover, he’s been involved in some of the Under-23s games, so he’s been playing football.

“We’ll see how that develops over the course of January."


Rodgers has previously made clear that Celtic would be first in line if Benkovic does leave on loan.

He told MailSport shortly after being appointed last season: " Filip's situation is one I'll look at.

But there's no doubt that if I want him to go out on loan again, I'd want him to go to Celtic.

"Of course, I'll have a conversation with the player - I think he's a big talent.

"But we've got four really good centre-backs here with big experience in Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, Wes Morgan and Caglar Soyuncu.

Filip is a top-class young player but if he goes on loan again, I'd love him to return to Celtic.



He needs to play and Celtic has been a great experience for him."

Maguire left in the summer to join Manchester United , so the Foxes may have to bring in another defender before they let Benkovic, who has also been linked with Derby, move elsewhere.

Yea, would be good to get Benko in permanently, say 8M, and hopefully shift both Joso and Hendry.
We then would have 3 quality center backs, well sorted.

 

Be lucky to get 3M for him.

 

Simunovic 6-7m currently I'd say we would sell for 2.5m.

 

Benko, Big Vic and that striker from Slovenia would be the dream window.
