It was tongue in cheek, as you well know.

But he had a point, do you think if the Elites really believed the sea levels were going to rise they would be handing out 30/40 year seafront mortgages, not to mention the insurance companies, who wouldn't be touching houses in those areas with a bargepole.

Sorry to inform you, but you're mortgage provider/insurance company couldn't give a * if your house was built on * quicksand. They just want your money.

But by all means carry on thinking that the banks are barometers of ethics and forward-thinking, while at the same time declaring the Nobel Peace prize a symbol of evil. :giggle1:

By all means carry on thinking Banks are stupid enough to hand out high risk mortgages where repossession would be pointless.

Ordinary people should be able to extrapolate from their personal experiences that burning fossil fuels, polluting our waters, etc., is a bad idea.

Do you need a scientist to tell you that you shouldn't inhale exhaust fumes, or drink dirty water?

    Use your head!

Irish carbon tax kicked in today, no need for me to be bothered about climate change anymore, I'm doing my bit. Quite reliving actually cause she had the * scared out of me.
But as usual, just like all those famines and that Amazon bollox when I was a kid give it time and it'll blow over. Greta will soon join the greats of Geldof & Sting, legends who made a real difference.

Everyone knows that obviously, but my point is that it is easy to see that the whole point about it is to tax people for “actions being made to save the climate” when we have no clue what’s being made.

If you actually believe for one second that the same politicians who sell weapons of mass destruction and murder civilians in war zones care about the climate, I’m not the one that should use my head.

It’s the easiest way ever to make cash from nothing.

By the way. Even if a country like Sweden would stop all flights and cars, it would make ZERO difference for the world climate. It’s the U.S and China that need to do this.

Sure, we could set an example, but not at the expense of the people.

The biggest polluters are commercial shipping. But it’s easier to go after your average joe, I guess...
