We could sit on this for a week and not announce it. Just because it hasn't been confirmed doesnt mean it hasn't been signed before the deadline.

That being said, it's no happening.

Can see the late announcement. Disco lights and music pumping then darkness and silence as a silhouette fills the centre pitch mark, dry ice pumped in. A figure pulls down the hood from his gold stitched Celtic hoody then BOOM, all lights beaming on....Efe Ambrose

Celtic are said to be willing to sign Victor Wanyama on an ‘initial’ loan deal in January amid uncertainty surrounding the midfielder’s future at Tottenham.

According to the Guardian, Wanyama is still a target for Celtic and the report claims the midfielder could be set for a return to Parkhead in January.

Interesting, they claim a move would be an ‘initial’ loan deal which suggests that Celtic may be looking to include an option to sign the midfielder permanently at the end of the season.

Signing Wanyama would be a move that is likely to go down very well amongst the fan base, given how many were keen for the Hoops to sign him following reports in the summer.

The former Parkhead favourite has struggled for regular first-team football this season with Spurs and bringing him back to the club would certainly strengthen Neil Lennon’s midfield options.

And the suggestion that Wanyama would be signed on an ‘initial’ loan deal does raise the question of whether there is talk of a permanent switch in the future, though that would likely require the midfielder to take a large pay cut.
