Defence looking a bit more healthy..

Out of that lot 3 are Celtic class defenders, jury still out on Bauer and Julien but from what I've seen so far from Julien not convinced.

For the avoidance of doubt they are Forster, Hatem and Ajer.

 

Are you really trying to say the defence will be better than last season if we sign a centre back in January?

 

Miller, Hendry and Ralston aren't and never will be good enough for Celtic unless they undergo some Andy Robertson-esque transformation. It's best for all parties if they find new clubs.

Bitton isn't a CB, he's capable of playing there in emergencies but it's ridiculous that we keep having to due to years of poor recruitment. He completely lost his man for Motherwell's 2nd goal.

Jozo is prone to a clanger, can't play on plastic pitches and can't play multiple games a week; that's an issue when Ajer & Julien are our only other actual CBs who are good enough.

Boli still getting settled and there's a player in there.

We're still a LB and CB short in my opinion.

 

Still need a left back and another centre half as a couple of injuries at the back we are * .

 

Defence is a * shambles from where we were last season.

Any team who can take the game to us will have joy.

 

Forster when at his best, will make the defenders feel more at ease, far more than Bain or Gordon ever could.

Forster could quite easily be the game changer here. Providing everyone stays fit and well and we can get a regular pairing at CB with Ajer.

Would say another LB is needed though and another CB to keep Biton away from being used there.

Still a quality LB away from it being ok, hopefully Bauer hits the ground running, but i hope Elhamed is fit for sunday.

Regardless of WHO we have as defenders, they need to gel together, and hopefully stay injury free sos NL can find the right back Line?... but under the guidance of JK I think we might still look a little suspect at the back wie a few heart in the mouth moments, never really understood how JK has been allowed to coach our defenders? I'd like a bit more assured performances and precise fast passing out to widemen/central midfielders, mibbie having the guys get closer to opponents as well...but I dunno really who does what , but was led to believe *.manager was defensive coach?

As for Melling, I seriously doubt he will come to Celtic, I live in Norway ,and if he goes elsewhere then it's not a bad thing! He's decent but not Whoa

Looks... meh! Potential for it to be good, or bad... the squad players (Ralston, Hendry, Miller) should only be trotted out for meaningless matches.

Also, bitton at CB, Hayes at LB as well as ajer able to squeeze in at a pinch... a lot of bang average filling there, not very heavy on genuine talent (hopefully that'll prove me wrong!).

Get a LB in and it's at least a credible defense. Decent euro team will probably shred us though! Although a good DM in front of them and Forster on form behind them might knock them all up a notch!

 

Meling and a DM and it's looking much improved on what it was.

That's not saying much considering we went in to the biggest game of our season with no LB and an unhealthy, just signed RB.

Lets be realistic no ones taking hendry,a always thought the hull thing was jabbas doing,as he was getting laughed at for the aflweedo nonsense.It happened not long after.Just my theory, probably wrong though.
