    Celtic upcoming season chances

Celtic enters the 2019/2020 season with several goals ahead of them. The most important and the one which is underlined as an imperative one is to defend the Scottish Premier League title.

All others are important, but not in that measure. The title at the end of this campaign would mean that the Celts have nine in a row, and tying the record held by the Rangers with nine straight titles set during the '90s. This would mean that Neil Lennon's guys would have a chance at the start of the next season to attack the record of 10 straight titles and remove the hated club from the all-time list.

When looking at the odds bookies set for the Scottish EPL champions, we can see that Celtic tops the list as the absolute favorite to retain the title. The average odds on them winning the championship is 4/9. Click on the link to claim a betdaqwelcome offer, you just might end up with more money than you planned if Lennon's team wins the title.

The Rangers are second favorites with 23/10, while Aberdeen 12/1, and Hibernian with 30/1 sit behind.

Now, to see what are really Celtic's chances of reaching the title and fulfilling all other goals they have for this season.

Regarding the transfers, we might say that Celts did have a solid summer. Their cash balance is looking quite solid after selling Kieran Tierney to Arsenal for €27 million. There is no need to say that his departure will leave some holes in the back line, but the offer received was simply too good to be declined. Several veterans left the club, mostly because Celtic wasn't interested in extending the contracts with them. Emilio Izaguirre, Mikael Lustig, Cristian Gamboa, Dedryck Boyata. All those guys had a significant role in the successes over the recent years.

On the other side, Christopher Jullien, a strong center-back from Toulouse, has arrived for €8 million. It is a massive deal for the Scottish champions, and Julien will, for sure, improve the stability of the defense. Boli Bolingoli, a 24-year old left-back who came form Rapid Vienna should be a decent replacement for Tierney. If he maintains to play at the same level as in Austria, he could develop into an excellent player. The team has landed another center-back, Hatem Abd Elhamed, an experienced defender from Hapoel Beer Sheva from Israel, in order to increase the depth in the defense.

When looking at the overall situation, we might add that the current squad at Celtic Park has enough potential to win the title without any problems. The same goes for the domestic cup competitions. It might be trickier to raise those trophies, especially because of a knockout system, but when comparing Celtic's power with other teams, everything is clear.

On goal which already isn't possible to deliver is playing in the Champions League. CFR Cluj eliminated Lennon's squad, and League Europa now is the primary objective. If they advance to the group stage, reaching the knockout-stage, there would be a massive success for the Scottish champs.
