Tbh I thought we could get through tonight, but for me there was no way we were getting past Slavia, no chance.

But at least it's have been automatic EL qualification, not that I'm fussed anyway.

I do see with our recent transfer policy in and out though its going to have serious implications even if we do make the EL, the crowds are going to be miniscule.

 

Yep, was goonna post it in his thread but then just cba, will be all forgotten about until this time next year when we fail to reach the UCL.

I’ll no be spending my dosh on this competition. I work Thursdays and quite frankly, the hassle of moving games to a Sunday is pure *. Would rather we didn’t bother. No as if the money is getting spent

What lenny had at his disposal tonight should have been enough to win tonight,but we didnt win tonight and imo it wasnt because our squad was not good enough but because lenny didnt manage the squad properly.

There would have been a time when lack of investment would come back to haunt us but i dont think we can say that tonight.
As for the duds,well again lenny has to take the blame for that.

Let me ask you this,the two teams tonight on paper and before the game started would you have thought we would get beat the way we did?

The bookies had them at something like 3/1 and i myself felt we wouldnt get beat,i wasnt thinking we havent good a team thats good enough,remember we done fine over there.

 

Other way about, and maribor got horsed 6-2 by Rosenborg. Not that any of that matters with our current defence.

 

Undecided on how I feel about Europa League...

Part of me feels we need to concentrate 100% on the league and Thursday night games means most domestic games will be moved to a Sunday which is brutal.

For the players I think it’s important to have them playing in a European competition, it’s the main reason why most players sign for us. It might be our last chance of getting new signings in as well

 

Believe me mate when I say this and you can come vilify me in the future if I am wrong, but Julien and Bolingoli are absolute * duds.

Bottom line...that squad is not good enough, might be good for raping St Johnstone.

Just because we dont know the names of Cluj players doesn't mean we are better than them.

And yes when I seen the teams I made a joke that we would get beat 7-5.

 

I would 100% rather win the league. Europa League is a distraction that has hindered our title hopes in the past and at the minute I'm concerned. Not sure what you think it brings to the table?

 

Its all about opinions pal,and im not one for pulling people up months after they give an opinion on players that may turn out to be wrong.
Im sure you,d like to see them turn out to be brilliant players .....lets hope for all our sakes they can improve as the season goes on.

 

And if that happens then board will be mission accomplished they don't wanna spend to to get the CL money they are happy to sell an asset every summer to make up for the loss of CL they don't wanna spend over what they normally do only reason we bid 9 Mill last year and 7 Mill this year is installments these days

Tbh if we were in el2 we would be favourites to win it top of the pile of your Irish Welsh and Northern Irish teams who will no doubt dwell in it

We can't win at home in round 3 of the CL......we will not do much better in this * league when we are giving teams 4 goals at home.......i'm more worried about rangers than Europa.
