A bit random but was researching something and was digging through old maps, just found it interesting to see the development around Celtic Park, I never knew that London Road primary came after Celtic Park was built?

    1895: https://maps.nls.uk/view/82891806

This one is the oldest I could find, no school on the map at this time.

    1912: https://maps.nls.uk/view/82891809

School is here now and a lot more development around the stadium, and a * chocolate factory!

    1935: https://maps.nls.uk/view/82891812

I noticed one sports ground and a football ground close by, does anyone know about these?

The 1895 and 1912 maps both load up a 1912 map.

I’m into old maps etc and have a couple antique originals on the wall framed .

    Glasgow 1860 John dower

Dublin 1840 John dower (feel I was lucky getting this one as I haven’t seen another for sale, I wanted matching maps for the frames)

NLS Is a great site . The satellite map overlays are great at seeing a then and now .

One thing about the old maps from CP thank * that * train line is gone at the side . Beeching cuts imo were shocking however this is one I approve. Be much easier travelling to Parkhead train station than dalmarnock that would be for sure .

    Great stuff mate.

I study geography and Geographical Information Software, so I am a map geek. Do you also study or work with something related or is it just an interest you have?

Just wanted to check something, i was born and raised in Easterhouse and there was this ancient wall thing we used to climb and wanted to see what it was, turns out was part of a ancient viaduct. Then just got hooked looking at them lol
