To me he is someone who played for Celtic not a former Celtic player. He seems to have a low opinion of the club, didn't he say in January that Rangers would win the league? You would think Lawwell curled one out on his driveway

This maths hurts my eyes sometimes. It’s not the 5x £5million =£25million thats wrong.
    It’s the fact KT probably earns between £20k - £30k a week.
those 5 @ £5million will want far far more between them. They will be wanting between £15k- £30k each a week, that’s where the sums don’t add up.

Which is why we should just save money & pay him £100,000 a week. Everyone’s a winner.

Yeah people never take into account salaries. The reality is any player coming here for £5m will not be accepting less than 20k, chances are more.

£25m obviously isn't enough, then, is it? If Tierney leaves this summer, it should be for a fee that will have a transformative effect on our playing staff: it should comfortably cover five £5m players, plus their salaries, and everything else.

Haha are you serious? If Lawell was mad enough to agree to that you dont think the likes of Edouard, McGregor, Forrest etc would ask for a massive pay rise. If its good enough for KT its good enough for them. If we were to run our business like that we would be bankrupt in a bout 2 or 3 years considering we get a measly £2.5 million for winning the Scottish Premiership while EPL clubs get something like £150 million. We cant pay EPL wages in the Scottish environment, we would be as dead as rangers in a very short time. Celtic would certainly not emerge as a 'winner' if we were to go down that path.

    Well, it needn't be.

If we sell Tierney this summer, it had better be for a fee that will allow us to significantly improve our team.

£25m might allow us to finance two high-quality first-team players (transfer fees, four-year contracts, whatever else), assuming that we pay market value. Where is the value in that?

Someone above raised the prospect of buying five £5m players; that would, I imagine, improve our team significantly, and might reasonably tempt us to sell Tierney this summer.

Of course, as you point out, it would take considerably more than £25m to finance that (£60m plus, assuming that they all see out their contracts?).

So Tierney has been sent back to Lennoxtown to finish his rehab. Is anyone else worried about this? Seems quite fishy to me tbh, really hope it's not a smokescreen for him having talks with Arsenal.

Aye why fly him out there for only a few days, he could’ve easily just stayed behind in the first place.

Maybe he wanted to go for the craic instead of wallowing and listening to media *

But why was he allowed to go in the first place if he was so far behind in his recovery? Rogic never even got took to Austria. If it was optional you'd think that he'd have fancied spending a few weeks in the sun with his team mates.

That’s fair enough but something doesn’t sit right for me, just stay behind and do the recovery. He’s going to have enough travelling during these qualifiers.

The fact we’ve not had him out for any interviews on Celtic TV and kept him away from the press says a lot.

Think we’re probably close to agreeing a deal with Arsenal in all honesty.
