We never tweet * like that when tryna sign folk. Seems we have been turned down and the club are covering themselves up by saying we made a magnificent offer :56: fs

Agreed. It's absurd that a club the size and stature of Celtic is resorting to justifying its contract offers over social media with phrases like "made a magnificent offer" and "fantastic offer to the player through his agent". It really all seems so * and embarrassing. Social media politics: the new frontier for Pedro in transfer negotiations.

If his demands of 15k are true it’s worrying we won’t pay him it. We’ve obviously signed him with the intention that he’ll be a regular first team player, you’ve got guys like Sinclair who are earning double, not even starting and we’ve just extended his contract.

It does say currently they have been unable to come to terms with his agent , so i take it talks might be ongoing though

Dont care who it is or age but if your going to pay 3 million for a player i would expect the club pay the going rate and 10 grand is not the going rate for a 3 million player and typical celtic biscuit tin mentality .

To be honest, if he ends up in the championship doing nothing, he was never good enough for us. I think he'd do well down there

Not overly impressed that we tweeted anything thb. However I can see why we have although that wont stop the usual "Pete only offered him a grand" type pish being posted.

Scott sinclair is a seasoned pro and when he was given his contract he justified it, this boy has played half a season , scott sinclair had spells at good clubs and contributed a lot at most of them, this boy has did nothing to justify 15-20k

I wouldn't like us to set a precedent for other young prospects in the domestic leagues that they can hold us to ransom.

We have a track record of making derisory offers to clubs and players, and you know that, which is why you tried to word your question cleverly.

One thing's for sure, when the deal inevitably falls through, it will be somebody else's fault... it always is.

That'd be daft. Revealing details like that to the public weakens your hand when trying to sign any player

Have to disagree saying with people saying we’ve lowballed him if we’ve offered anywhere around the £10k per week figure.

He’s an 18 year old kid with everything to prove. Someone mentioned Scott Sinclair, but he was a highly experienced player coming from the Premiership to us, the Turnbull situation isn’t comparable. We’ve moved fairly quickly on this for once, in terms of agreeing a fee. We should continue to do so and give him a deadline by which he must accept of reject the contract. I would like to see him here, but the success of this sundown won’t be decided by signing Turnbull or not.

I think McGinn was more proven than this boy. He may or may not go on to be a great player but we were all pretty sure about McGinn

10k PW is more than enough for a player whos only been good for 8month and is on about 500PW at motherwell , 10k is plenty , will also be getting a cut of the 3mil fee and will be offered bonuses etc
