I’m sure the two Americans have work permit issues.

Agree regarding Boyata. I wasn't a fan of him either. Ajer has all the attributes in my opinion but we should have spent cash on an experienced centre half last summer to play alongside him and punted Boyata then. Simunovic took the hit for both him and Boyata when we got beaten at Tynecastle in the 4-0 game when both were rotten.

    Celtic transfer window summer 2019

Lenny : "alright Pete, weve spotted "player a". Should be a great addition. Can play anywhere across the back, pacey, young and hungry.

Lawell: "say no more son, Let daddy go get him."

    Lawell : we're interested in "player a".

Club a: fair enough, hes surplus here, hes yours for 7m.

    Lawell: I'll give ya 2.

Club: the price is 7. Theres other parties interested mate. * it... 5 and a 15% sell on fee.

Lawell: im now changing my offer to 1m and smack in the mouth for your cheek.

Club a: are you * high?

Lawell: my offer is now 500k... and scissor kick to the back of the head because your a *.

    Club a: *hangs up phone*

    Lawell: * him, he's * anyway.

Lawell: sorry kiddo, negotiations broke down with them *, they kept bait and switching.

Lenny: no problem pete. Lets look elsewhere.

Lawell: we found this wee nugget here, really really highly rated but we could maybe persuade man city to give us him on loan...

I am hoping 15 million to 20 million but doubt it

1 rb I would go Carl jenkson
2 cb Sandler on loan and torrie from Chelsea
Cm Joe abrio and David turnbell
    Lb cover meling from rosenberg
    Goalkeeper cover Adrian
Striker I would go for stunai from ginrona

My worry is we seem to be targeting strikers and midfielders when the defence needs looked at.

    Currently we have
    RB - Ralston
CB - Ajer, Joso, Hendry, Commper
    LB - Tierney

Keep - Jozo, Ajer & Tierney
Ralston is a reserve player who IMO is not good enough for Celtic
Hendry - Could be kept as back up but would rather be moved on
    Commper - Lest said better

So IMO we need a RB thats first team starter, A RB Cover, x2 CB and LB Cover.

As much as I agree our defence needs work, if you look at it on paper we had little trouble defensively since Lennon came in, it was going forward which is the problem

Still tho, I want a new starting RB (lustig/ralston backup), a new centre half and a new backup left back.

People here are dreaming, they are clearly trying to take the wage bill down by at least 30/40%. This will be our transition season again, unlikely for CL and group stage EL is best we will possibly get.

Meaning net spend will probably be ZERO, once the dead wood goes and one marquee player (ntcham, forrest etc.) goes. Anything for new signings will be development fees, free transfers and possibly ONE marquee at a spend less than the outgoing, signing just to keep fans onside.

Been going on for years (exception being to the one BR was here for).

We have a laugh at sevco for never standing up to their board or questioning there decisionmaking, yet we never do the same. Fans are blinded by one thing and that's 10 in a row, yet the Celtic business model means we have no european ambition but just one that makes fiscal sense for the men at the top to rake in a lot of healthy bonuses and to keep the club ticking over and just doing enough to win. I also think the comparison of 'look what happened to rangers when they spent too much'. NOT a comparison that's an anamoly of blatant arrogance and cheating.

We lose one of these titles in the next two years people will finally wake up, but by then, it'll be too late.

The wage bill is probably down that when all the end of contracts leave plus having Rodgers and his staff off the books.

It’s pretty much zero net spend every season anyway.

Part in bold, we lost to the zombies, we couldn’t get into the champions league with the same defence.

And yet in the second part you want new defenders?

We haven’t addressed our defence for about 4/5 windows now, it desperately needs addressing.

THIS. How many times this season have we played with a makeshift defence? Playing Champions league without any first choice CBs for two, arguably three seasons is laughable .The good ones are always injured and the fit ones are in the ilk of Hendry.:bash:

15M will be spent, even Lawwell knows we need quality in, not a major rebuild but strengthen now and saves the panic later.

We have seen reports that the club have been scouting for players since February do you think that we will do business quickly this window?

Most of our targets be signed right off the bat?

Or is it more smoke and mirrors from the management getting fans hopes up?

    I’m meaning on paper mate

We don’t concede many goals, that’s what Lennon and the board will be looking at. In actual fact we do need no defenders but it’s not like we’re leaking goals

Yeah but Boyata, Benkovic and Lustig started in many of those games and will most likely all not be here next season.

If lawell cannot see this is the year to get it spent then he never will. If we fail to complete ten in a row because of under spending then surely lawell has to walk.

I think with our current squad we will secure 9 but it could be more uncomfortable than we would like.

Lennon has to be backed. He has proven he can find decent players. Trust him and back him
