    Rio Ave 2-2 Porto

Massive slip from Porto.. they were 2-0 up with 5 mins left.

Benfica a point behind with a game in hand, got to fancy them to see it out with 4 games left.

If they beat Braga I think they’ll win it.

    Big win away to Braga.

1-0 down at HT but won 4-1.

Surely that’s the title in the bag for Benfica now.

Arguably the most unlikely title in Benfica's history. The former coach was sacked on 03.01.2019. Benfica was 7 points behind.

    League table on 03.01.2019:
    1. Porto - 15 matches, 39 points, 31-9 goals
    2. Sporting - 15 matches, 34 points, 32-16 goals
    3. Braga - 15 matches, 33 points, 30-16 goals
    4. Benfica -15 matches, 32 points, 31-15 goals

    Final league table:
    1. Benfica - 34 matches, 87 points, 103-31 goals
    2. Porto - 34 matches, 85 points, 74-20 goals
    3. Sporting - 34 matches, 74 points, 72-33 goals
    4. Braga -34 matches, 67 points, 56-37 goals

For the third time in history, Benfica scored more than 100 goals in the league.

New coach's record: 19 matches, 18 wins, 1 draw. 72 goals (3.8 average per game). The new coach name is Bruno Lage. Trained Benfica youth teams between 2004-2012. Was an assistant to Carlos Carvalhal between 2015-2018 (Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea). In 2018 took the job of Benfica B's coach and in January 2019 was given the interim position of Benfica's coach.

Promoted Ferro and Florentino Luís from Benfica B and gave more play time to João Félix. All 3 kids became starters.
