I think we can do better then Lennon, but looking at the last 10 games we've played, he does deserve some credit.

10 games, 9 clean sheets. Mostly due to Bain I would argue, but I can't say I remember Rodgers ever having such an impressive defensive run.

The small issue with the above though, we've scored far less then we did normally under Rodgers. But still, disappointing draws aside, the only goal we've conceded is against sevco in the last 10 games. That's something positive surely.

Don't know who the Manager will be for next season but I'm buzzing already for it. Can't believe we could be about to see us win 9iar. I know many of us never saw the first 9iar, and yet here we are on the verge of another.

We're living in very special times and I'm loving it :shamrock:

Tongue in cheek yet you still feel the need to defend your comment?

My comment was highlighting the desperation people will, and have gone to, to defend Lennon. He can do no wrong in some people’s eyes. I don’t think he offered Izzy a contract. I think PL, Lenny and coaching staff have probably discussed it together incase he’s to get the job.

The anti-Lenny brigade :giggle1: there’s that imaginary title again. You know that just because people want to go down a different route, it doesn’t make them anti-Lennon? Some of us are just willing to say it how we see it. It doesn’t mean we are anti-Lennon. I’ll stand by him, I’m just not going to let him walk into the job based on who he is unlike some.

I want to highlight this post from you too.

I’m sure you know by now Lennon never said anything about Izzy. However, do you really believe that someone would actually lie to the press and therefore the player about a new contract? I pray that doesn’t happen at my football club.

    Vicious :giggle1:

“I don’t want Lennon as manager, I want us to go a different route as I believe it’s a step back and he’s already had his time here. If he beats the huns and completes the treble I won’t argue if he gets the job. If he gets the job I’ll back him.”

What’s vicious about that opinion, the opinion of many?

Did you just say that Lennon isn’t the cheap option because if we got a better manager in, he’d get snapped up by someone else so we’d get a compensation package? But we won’t with Lennon? So we’ve to hire a manager that’s not good enough to get snapped up by another team? Eh?! :giggle1:

Criticising someone who doesn’t exist to shift the blame from Lennon for offering Izzy a contract?

So am I shifting the blame on Lenny for offering him a new contract? Did Lenny actually offer Izzy a new contract as you suggested in your first reply?

I think it would have been pretty obvious to anyone who wanted to read my initial post to understand the seriousness of it when I said "move over Ajax..." When you reply to it as a serious post of course I'm going to defend it.

Cocu would be interesting. Think he could bring decent players in as well.

If we have any aspirations of winning a European trophy we'll need Mourinho or someone as good as him imo.

We’ll need a new man at the top then, cause Lawwell and Co will not push the boat out.

If I’m honest, we would only ever win the Europa League if we got lucky. That’s a big * if.

I want the board to have aspirations to get 10 in a row first and get a manger in place who can do that before we even think about “winning a European trophy”

Again, you're defending yourself an awful lot for someone who wasn't being serious. I just stated what it looked like you were doing. Simple as that.

My opinion? The club came to the decision to look into the possibility of offering Izzy an extension since everything is up in the air right now with the manager, the squad and Tierney's fitness. It's probably a last resort for a squad player, they will have discussed the possibility with Izzy and his agent.

Logic. No blame on Lennon, Izaguirre or managers that don't exist.

Why should I bother? It would only be met with more preposterous mental gymnastics from you and the others. I'll stick to laughing at the absurdity of some of the discussions.

Don't do that. That means that they've stumped you since you have no response and they "win".

Oh, but if you respond in any way it means you hate Lennon.

    Can't win. :giggle1:

So why did you quote my post? Neil Lennon was not mentioned in my initial post yet you managed to get this from it
"Criticising someone who doesn’t exist to shift the blame from Lennon for offering Izzy a contract"

What blame is there to shift if he hasn't offered him a contract?
