If there's any chance we should be going for Rose, I highly doubt there's a realistic chance of getting him however.

No chance, I can see him ending up at Man Utd or Chelsea.

FORMER Manchester United manager David Moyes has declared his interest in the Celtic job - despite insisting Neil Lennon has done enough to earn a second crack at the role permanently.

Lennon is targeting a historic treble treble after taking the reins at Parkhead on a temporary basis following Brendan Rodgers’ decision to join Leicester in February.

The Irishman remains unbeaten ahead of Sunday’s mouth-watering derby against Rangers and Moyes acknowledges that he deserves to be in pole position for the post.

However, Moyes, currently out of work after leaving West Ham last year, readily admits that he would find it impossible to say no to the club he represented as a player between 1980 and 1983.

“I would always be interested in the Celtic job,” said the former Everton, Sunderland and Real Sociedad boss. “But I’ve got to say that Lenny is doing a brilliant job.

"He has been there before and I think the job he is doing at the moment would warrant being the Celtic manager. I really do.

    ------------------------

He's certainly changed his tune since August 2016...

DAVID MOYES has claimed he snubbed Celtic because he wanted to manage in England again.

Sunderland’s new boss was targeted for talks this summer before Parkhead chiefs appointed Brendan Rodgers to take over from Ronny Deila.

Moyes, 53, has confirmed for the first time that he held discussions with chief executive Peter Lawwell when he was out of work.

But the former Everton and Manchester United gaffer admitted he walked away from the chance to manage the club where he began his career.

Moyes, who was axed by La Liga side Real Sociedad last November, said: “I met Celtic and I know the people very well.

“They spoke to me several times before but I had other clubs this summer who met me at the same time.

“I’ve had opportunities to go abroad but I wanted to come back to the Premier League.

We better tell him to jog the * on.

So Moyes is willing to slum-it up-north for a while, now England doesn't want him. Nice of him isn't it. He can GTF we've had enough of badge-kissing frauds just killing time until some English club flashes their eyes, sorry, cheque books, at them. As for Benitez.....well, anybody would think season-ticket renewal time was just around the corner.

Brendan Rodgers could have walked into jobs all over the camp before he came here. Understand completely he had a connection but as his weasel jump to Leicester eventually proved, how big a connection was that in the first instance? There isn’t ‘zero chance’ of anyone joining us, particularly one who’s short at the bookies.

For what it’s worth he would be a huge signing and a huge statement of intent.
