I was shocked to hear the news today . I didn't think it was the right club for Brendan to go to , and the timing is bad for us too . I do not want Lenny to be our permanent manager either . I think we'll win the league , but I fear this disruption could see us suffer a mini slump . And I SO HOPE we secure another treble . A win at swinecastle should galvanise our confidence , and see us keep up our superb run in domestic football .

Why are people so surprised that he has left us? The timing in my view is the only surprise. I've stated on here many times regarding BR and his thinking. He thought he was going to get the Arsenal job last season. He was offski then if that had have happened. Brendan has always liked to dine at the top table. His relationship with the board as we all know was broken. Him and CEO haven't spoken in weeks. This timing is a culmination of a few things.

We now look forward to Neil Francis coming in. Lets get behind this man once again and get that roar back.

Unfortunatley he has turned out to be another who has few principles apart from whats good for himself.I would rather remain a poor man with principles than a rich man with none.Dembele was probably right in his assertions of the man.
The pics of him posing at Leicester are a real slap in the face to all us Celtic fans.

I think if we have learned one thing from this whole thing is once a suitable deal is put in front of someone they will go Tierney included.

    Henrik Larsson (obvious choice ehh?)
It’s the fact he’s done us dirty and stitched us up so badly. Look at all the guff he’s signed and left us with?

We could have papped Boyata for £9m and had something to play with in terms of a replacement but that never happened.

Not a massive or overwhelming job to do but this summer will be more difficult than folk believe. The new manager will have a hard task of it.

You don't agree he had a mid to long term plan because he wasn't a fan? :87:

He clearly set the ball in motion on a vision when he came in to the club, looking at all aspects of how we operated from the training facilities to the pitch. Just because he wasn't an outright devoted fan doesn't mean he didn't have the professionalism to want to do a job or that he couldn't identify very obvious personal benefits of coming in and steering Celtic in a direction that goes beyond Scotland.

And taking Benkovic back and signing Boyata who he told the board to keep instead of selling him he will get him for nothing . Loved everything he done with us but the way he has done this today has fkd me off big time RAT

Aye, cos the financial backing he received would have meant he'd defo have been able to replace Boyata going in to CL qualifiers. Yeah that panned out poorly but Rodgers wasn't to blame for that. I don't and would not trust the board to replace outgoing players when we couldn't even get a deal for John * McGinn over the line.

Think of all the players that departed: Roberts, Armstrong, Dembele, Sviatchenko then add players going in to the last year of their contract and we essentially bought in a few loanees as a short term fix. We've had two disgraceful windows in a row on the back of Rodgers bringing tens of millions in to the club with back to back CL campaigns and the sale of players like Dembele and Lawell wouldn't loosen the strings enough to get the likes of McGinn in the last year of his contract.
