If you could mesh Burkes attitude with Eddys footwork then you would have.....eh.....Timo Weah. Get him played tonight! and get him played through the middle. Burke to the right and Eddy to the left, why not.

 

Don’t you think we’d lose a lot of tracking back on the left, with Edouard there? Dangerous with Tierney out.

 

I think he has a lot more to offer than we're currently seeing.

 

Needs a rocket shoved up his * most times, not the sort of work rate 9million should get us

If you’re only getting 30 mins you should put in 3 times more effort than the guys that are already on the pitch

Just seems disinterested most of the time.... Wish he would show some passion.... Hopefully a goal and a run of games gives him the lift I want to see ..

Has the potential to be a young, black, French version of Dembele but he’s no really showing it.

 

Came on as sub with 20 mins to go of a second leg tie, 2-0 down on aggregate away from home in Europe down to 10 men and we couldn't create anything for him.

Some of the criticism for him is ridiculous.

 

Signing Burke on loan and us all seeing him play the loan role with the effort, workrate and enthusiasm he has really has brought extra attention to Eddys lack of said attributes.
Fair enough if hes not an out and out lone striker, maybe he is better out left or just off a central forward (like I expect he was to play with Dembele had he stayed) but that then begs the question, do we expect his effort to all of a sudden jump simply if Brendan plays him elsewhere. I'd have serious doubts.
Quick feet and raw talent will get him so far, more application needed to reach higher levels.

 

All I want is for him to sometimes just leather a shot first time. Don't even care if it goes straight out the stadium, don't think, don't stop, just stride onto the ball and smash one - once a game, so I know he cares and I can stop getting all tense out of pure frustration with him.
