You need the right balance in any team , Rogic ,Mcgregor and Christie are forward thinking players but theres not a tackle in them, thats where Brown comes in, Ntcham is hot and cold but a gifted player.

There’s not a tackle in them? You haven’t been watching Christie carefully then.

Sinclair on the wing with forrest some games you cant beat teams with pure ability when getting kicked lumps out of and in sinclairs case hiding..for the most part we have got by with football, the trophies suggest that but weve been poor away from home this season and got outworked and overpowered.

The amount of tracking back and winning the ball back has been one of the reasons we’ve had so much success with him in the team.

    McGregor Christie
    Rogic

    Brown Bitton
    Ntcham

Unless we plan on using Bitton as a CB and McTominay filling the midfield spot.

Are you in the same boat regarding McCarthy?

Yep. McGregor is better than McCarthy these days and Brown is still here. Unless he or Ntcham are leaving there is no need for a midfielder in my eyes

If James McCarthy were available to either buy or loan to buy it makes plenty more sense than McTominay on a 6 month loan deal.

Nobody knows what kind of condition McCarthy is in and if he would even be the same player he was for a while , at 28 with injury record again its a gamble.
We have a chance of getting a young 22yr old.

I wouldn’t have a CM high up my list of transfers either tbh.

Brendan must be thinking differently though, seems like he’s after another ball winner if the reported interest in McCarthy and now McTominay is true.

As long as we get a RB and CB in then I don’t mind this lad coming in to give us another option.

Celtic will continue to monitor the situation of Scott McTominay but will only firm up their interest if they can move on another midfielder in the window.

Record Sport revealed on Wednesday night the Scottish champions were eyeing a loan move for the Manchester United academy graduate.

Sky Sports claimed on Thursday Celtic were in talks with the English Premier League club over McTominay.

But we understand the Premiership leaders will not move for the Scotland star, 22, unless they more midfielders leave Parkhead.

Wouldn't be surprised if Ntcham went for big money before window closed , then we dont spend anything again just supplement with loans instead of permanents.
We got 20m for Dembele only seen 2m of it so far on Bayo.

Does excellent at closing down and making a menace of himself, but plays higher up the pitch. Its more than evident we need a holding midfielder who is strong in the tackle.

I’m not saying we don’t but accusing him of not being able to tackle is mental:56:

McGregor as well, done not too bad against Leipzig there? They two work very hard, they tackle hard. What they aren’t are defensively minded though.

Never really seen anything really im
I agree, but i think both RC and CMs best qualities lie in going forward, and having a holding midfielder behing them will allow them to do that.

Whats more is that against a really powerful midfield, we could get exposed.
