Have to agree. The bhoy needs to learn (and quick!) that more is expected of him.
Our 500k Dembele did at his age coming from Fulham.

A £9million striker from PSG can NOT go into hiding or leave the head down like he has all too frequently.

    Aye, he's young.

    However so was Dembele.
Say what you want about his exit but Dembele understood the Celtic way and the expectation.

I honestly can't say the same for OE.

When the weight on his shoulders is heavier than ever he should be relishing being the guaranteed striker in every game.
Chasing treble-trebles and progressing in Europe?
The bhoy needs to give himself a shake at times.
    He's 20, not 16,
Almost 10 million quid from PSG, FFS?

When I say head down, I literally mean head down whilst in possession, not looking for the better option, just looking to beat his man, when there are options. And typically, losing the ball.

He's been here long enough now to play for the team, not himself. Not be greedy.
Have his heart in the TEAM.

I'll pay ANYONE and everyone £100 the day that EO celebrates the way that KT or ML does when someone else scores for the team. In ANY game.

Hawd yer guns there, Axel Provo!

What has the price Edouard was signed for anything to do with him? Did Celtic negotiate with him directly and he came up with that figure? Naw.

Celtic were happy enough to pay the fee, PSG happy to accept (most likely with the financial mob's eyes on them!)

Simmer yersel doon tae a riot...

    Sorry, Bunnet.

But when a player who is our biggest record signing of all time (by more than double), never mind the inflation p*sh, I have to expect more from whom the guy is/where he came from and ultimately what his ambitions are.

No riot here, just an open-eyed watchful opinion on a player that could be and should have had a bigger impact this season.

Did Edouard come up with the figure? Obviously naw, mate.

But if that is what he is valued at, AGREED upon by both clubs, then that is how he should know, mentally, and probably does know, that he has the capability of a striker of THAT value.

THAT is the worth of him.
Simply, I haven't seen that worth just yet, unfortunately.

When I watch Edouard with us, 80-90% of the time, I do NOT see a 10 million pound rated player.

Watch him jump for the clearance/header (where he actually hand-balled it against Salzburg and then shout to distract from what he'd done).

I see the bhoy's got talent. (Against the huns last year)
I don't see him fully applying himself to us.
    Lazy, head-down? Aye.
    That's obvious.

    Stepping stone club for him?
    Probably. Infact, obviously.

    No excuse though.

I'd play Griff EVERY TIME before him, if that was possible and Griff was in the correct headspace.
Passion and pride over individuality at a club every single day of the week.

We signed Rafael Scheidt for £5m fs. Pretty sure Sutton was our record signing at £6m odd until Eddy....

Your only signing potential in Edouard,Dembele and Ntcham so you can shift on anyway if they improve and develop the way ye hope ,Where's Brendan's proven signings? only Sinclair.

Correction, I thought that with the add-ons, that the previous Sutton/Hartson 6 million mark was being doubled with EO.
    Maybe not quite. *Hands up*
    Though my point remains, man.

    He was, until Eddy.

    True.

    Our "record signing" still.

Not "double" as I had previously posted.

Is he looking HALF of Sutton/Hartson?
It's not like he joined us last week FFS.

2 x strikers in this coming January?

    I'd have OE 2/3rd place.

Not passionate enough or understanding the role/responsibility of being Celtic's main goal scoring responsibility...AS ECHOED by a legen that DID understand and live up to that very role and responsibility today, Mr. Hartson.

Hartson and Sutton were proven premiership striker player at their peak , Edouard is only a young player 20 yr old coming over from france and he's still got to develop , if he does.

If we signed McGinn and McKenna again the summer yet again more money spent on potential who you think might become better players but it doesn't always work like that.

    9 million, though?!

I doubt McGinn and McKenna would have misunderstood their responsibility, following a HUGE transfer fee (if that's what had happened}.

    Totally different comparison anyway.

Without Griff, whom I'd play ahead of OE anyway, we are nearly 8 years IN to a f******* phenomal period (as if we weren't already).

I am just worried that HEI'DOON O.E. (considering his cost) is NOT the best piece of business we could have done.
Record signing...Aye awrite, flashes here and there.

Last 32 in Europa, 2 x more MAJOR trophies to go for the unforeseen Treble-Treble?

I have Major doubts with him, never mind him alone.

If you are 20 year old, 37 or 16....when you are valued and transferred from a club such as PSG, you'd expect or hope the man destroys the lower league teams and can maybe show up against (not even Champion League) Euro teams.

Two tap-ins that Craig Gordon could have scored (if we wisnae throwing the ball in our own netFFS).
I'm just disappointed that he has went missing too often.

Hartson, after he signed for us, had scored one goal by the point in the season if I remember right. Eddy has 9 in the last 13.

With Eddy I think he was signed to play in a front 2 rather than a lone striker. That hasn't worked out due to circumstances not down to him but he has still knocked in 12 goals this season. I think he will have a partner in January to work with.

Comparing his transfer financially with the likes of Hartson and Sutton is just daft, money in the game isn't the same as it was back then, how much would they have cost us in todays money in fees and wages coming from england? Probably wouldn't get either of them.
