Stokes not seeing out 4 years in Iran, would've thought that!?

He has * his career. Lucky to play for Dundee Utd next.

 

I think the fact he had to go and play in Iran signifies that his career in Scotland's long gone mate

 

Agree, McDonald dropped down the other year to play for United for the sake of game time and a challenge.

Surely you'd imagine someone like united, Falkirk, partick would have had a look at him if he was worth taking on. Be that ability or attitude. But can't see anyone else in Scotland offering him a gig. Not unless it's part time level.

Used to constantly defend him when he was here.

Always said he was probably the most naturally gifted stiker we had in ages and things like the Killie comeback etc show that but its clear to see he has a * attitude and * an extremely promising career, falling out with managers, * behind his missus's back and generally acting the bollix getting in trouble while out back home.

Just a * that can kick a ball a bit.

FORMER Celtic star Anthony Stokes and ex-Kilmarnock hitman Lee Erwin have been reported to FIFA by their Iranian club after both abruptly quit. Irish international Stokes and forward Erwin both signed for Tractor Sazi in the summer, but the pair left this week.

Former Hibs and Arsenal star Stokes has cited family problems, while the Iranian club claim Erwin was suffering from ‘depression.’ But Tractor Sazi – managed by Welsh legend John Toshack – are far from impressed with the pair. Their managing director Alireza Asadi said: “They are separate issues. Stokes has a family problem and Irwin was depressed. “But that’s no excuse for telling lies and the matter is with the legal department of FIFA.


Stokes has a major problem with his family and it’s a personal matter for him. “We even offered to allow his mother, father and sister to come and live in Tabriz, but he said he could not focus on playing for us. We tried to help him as a friend.


But his mind was not ready for training and playing for us. “Erwin said he was depressed and could not play, but interestingly was able to come to our training camp in Turkey two days after we wrote a letter to him.

His lack of professionalism is remarkable. I'm sure one day he'll look back on his career and wish he'd tried a bit harder.

The fact that he was instantly punted by BR and only lasted a few months back at Hibs under his pal Lenny speaks volumes about his attitude, loved him at Celtic, needs to get his act together or he'll end up in the Irish league. Pity!

 

Why is it everybody think’s Stokes and Lenny’s pals? Was one of the most harshly treated players under Lenny, looking at his attitude since then it makes sense though
