I think we'll beat them. They looked uninspired and tired against Bodø/Glimt last Saturday, a side that hasn't won a match since the beginning of September. They know that their chances of advancing to the next round is slim to none and will probably focus on the Norwegian cup final on Sunday.

    2-0 Celtic

Seen an article saying it’s likely they’ll put out a weakened team?

Qualifying is very difficult for them, if even possible. They will concentrate on their upcoming cup final.

Aye, I think they have a cup final too, but they have given up on Europa League knockout stage qualification.

I'd take a draw in the red bull game would mean it is all in our hands.

Leipzig had lost 1 in 12 before the weekend ( to us). So Salzburg's form can't be far better than that.

Even if that is the case, self consciously I think they'll be elsewhere and just wanting us out the road..

Want us to go there and play our normal attacking game and no be tentative. I don't have any worries on that front anyway..

As long as Leipzig don't win and we take care of our own business...Celtic Park will be bouncing and we can spook Salzburg last game..

Very good side buy definitely beatable..

    I'd play

    Gordon

    Lustig Boyata Benkovic Tierney

    Forrest McGregor N'tcham Christie

    Edouard Griffiths

Go two strikers and get intae their mince, must win game if we have any hope of goin through.

I was under the illusion that it comes down to the head to head results before goal difference. They take an aggregate score of both games and include the away goals rule. Therefore a 2-0 victory for us would equate to 3-3 on aggregate with us winning the head to head with Salzburg on Away goals rule.

If the game were to finish 3-1 Celtic at parkhead, that would be the occassion where goal difference would come into play.

    I could be wrong, however.

I think that is the case in a straight head to head between 2 teams. Where it will become more complicated is if all three teams finish on 12 points then how do you work the head to head if

Leipzig have already won their head to head with us
We beat Salzburg on the H2H.
Salzburg beat Leipzig on the H2H ?

If all 3 finish on 12pts it goes to a 3-way head to head. The results against Rosenborg are discarded and a new table drawn up containing only games between the 3 teams. As we all finish on 6pts in that table it will go to goal difference between the 3 teams. In that scenario how many we need to beat Salzburg by will be determined by how many Leipzig beat them by. If Leipzig won by 1 goal, we'd need to beat Salzburg by 3.

Yes you are correct. I forget we scored aginst them in Salzburg. Goal difference will only come into play if it finishes 3-1 again

I hadnt really considered Salzburg not qualifying at this point. What'd happen if we all finished on 12, but Salzburg had better h2h over Leipzip, Leipzig better h2h over us and we had better h2h over Salzburg?

I'd rather they didn't field any sort of weakened team. That's the type of games that we've always historically lost. They can play their strongest team, we are capable of beating them.

Goes to goal difference between the 3 and results against Rosenborg are ruled out so if all 3 teams finish on 12 we’re needing leipzig and us to give Salzburg a doing for us to qualify

    cant really see that happening

edit: I mean Salzburg not qualifying. if Lepzig win against Salzburg, most likely scenario is we lose out
