Swear to * on my kids lives, I can't believe some of our support are even talking about replacing Brendan Rodgers! * deluded of the highest caliber it is!! I'd take a guess at most of the ones who are even suggesting it, they'd be this new batch of supporters , the entitlements! You mad men need to realise the position were in and where in just a decade or 2 ago. Yes everything won't always go our way but ffs, give the man a break. Look at the conditions he's to work under ffs. 6 * trophies in 2 years, read that last part again just to make it sink in. Just a wee note to those already talking of a chance, watch what yous wish for because it might just come true. Brendan rodgers is tha man whos going to get us the 10. Dont even let it cross your minds for a change because that change could quite well derail that for us and well never get this opportunity ever again. Not in or life time anyway.

I'm not convinced it would fail. Maybe one day we'll find out though

Sick of seeing all this * about oh the 90s, what about the 60s/70s/80s/00s and this decade? We've always been successful. You don't hear rangers going oh remember the 60s so we can't complain. Remember we went bust 5 years ago so we can't complain. Actually don't get why everyone goes on about it when there is a complaint made about the current set up.

Also, I don't want Rodgers to leave, think he's a fantastic manager but he does have his flaws. He clearly can't spot a defender and that's not just from his time at Celtic, just look at his time with Liverpool. He also clearly isn't going to change his style, which in Europe you have to be willing to adapt for certain games especially away from home.

If Lennon was in charge we would most likely not get beaten by all the big teams by such a high margin. However, if Lennon was still in charge we wouldn't have witnessed the last 3 incredible years we've had domestically, so we need to accept Rodgers has his flaws, but there's nothing wrong with people being upset or complaining because no one likes to lose. We just need to stop all this * comparing it to the 90s, or saying everyone who didn't witness the 90s or too young to remember is "entitled" or get comments about it everytime they make their opinions.

I’d still take Lenny before him. Clarke would turn us into the complete opposite of what we are just now, style wise.

I can see the quotations, but I'm not sure I agree Doofy. In his position if Rodgers is handed a list of players picked by his scouting department, then he is only be able to choose from the available options presented to him. Congerton is the person responsible for compiling the options, therefore, the manager can only pick from these players :50:

Brendan has shown throughout his career so far that his man-management skills are second to none, and it is standard practice for a manager to make positive comments like these to the media when a new player is signed to keep morale high, and in this case with Hendry as he was a 'younger' player at the time, a confidence boost.

Rodgers hand-picked Congerton for the job. Rodgers has the final say on players and he’s clearly went to the board with his own players in mind i.e. Hendry, Musonda etc.

    Therefore it’s his responsibility.

This is what I mean when I say some of the deflecting is embarrassing.

I'm not so sure I agree, I blame the scouting/recruiting department for signing under-par players; I would ask the question, 'who suggested that we get this guy?'

I agree that Rodgers made the case for him to be hired, and with our poor dealings in transfer windows recently, Congerton has a lot to answer for in the January window to see if he is still up to the job.

By your logic you post above, here's an example; let's say you go to buy a car, and the dealer shows you five different options (all of which are terrible, not what you are after at all) but they present them to you in such a manner that you decide to buy one of them. Three months later you notice things aren't quite what they first promised you at the garage, and it is in fact a terrible car. By your logic you would say that both the dealer and you are accountable and responsible, as you put your trust in them. I don't agree with that at all. The salesman is responsible.

    Agreed..

He'd fail in trying to be a more expansive manager..

Would be more suited to grinding us out results in Europe and no getting pumped mind..

What an incredible amount of spin that is.

There is absolutely no way in which Rodgers doesn't take partial responsibility for our poor recruitment, as there is no way that he isn't involved.

    What a ridiculous scenario:56:

The entire point is that it was Rodgers who picked Congerton. He got him the job because he thought/thinks he’s one of the best at it. So when it turns out that Congerton is actually *, the blame lies with Rodgers.

Even then his style would just get over run in Europe, imo. Parking the bus against Linfeild in the qualifiers and he’d get lynched before full time :giggle1:
