I know it was tongue in cheek mate just couldn't resist a dig at the tramp *:56:

At the end of the day it's BR's responsibilty to build the team, Celtic have gave him the funds we've just won the double treble and yet people are looking for a scapegoat, MON didn't qualify for every CL yet he was given basically what he wanted, * happens. I take it you never saw the Kellys and the Whytes in the 90's?

Martin O’Neill spent less money than Gordon Strachan. He was given fund his first season and then practically * all.

Martin O'Neill put us into debt, Strachan had to be given cash because MON's squad was old and done. I'd put WGS' first year on MON

Aye, hence the reason he wasn’t given anymore funds after his first season. I don’t think it was anywhere near done either btw but that’s another argument for another day.

aye the wage bill was massive under O'Neil, i think at the point of signing his final contract in 2001 larsson was on 40k a week, and highest paid player in britian at the time was roy keane at 55k or something.

This is a vey real possibility that a lot of fans just won't except, I mean who wouldn't want to come and play for us we're a big club with history, the stadium and fans etc... none of that means * to most players, money and the league we're in will be the deciding factor for 9/10 players, not the romance of who we are.

When smaller teams in england, that we consider relative nobodys, can offer players double or triple the wages like it's nothing, in a better quality league and with less of the pressure that comes with playing at us, it's not hard to imagine us missing out on loads of players we make enquiries about.

Some players can go through their careers and not win anything! They just chase a pay packet . Money has ruined the game.

Without concrete evidence on whom we've tried to sign, and who refused us for pure money- I doubt our bad transfer window is simply due to no interest from players. Mulumbu could have gone to the Middle East for money- he didn't. I'm sure there are players who would go for achievements rather than money. Might want to look more outside of UK for those, though.

Right let's forget the big leagues and the championship. Nobody's convincing me that we couldn't sell our club to at least some of our targets (* if there was any) and not get any of these things over the line. *, even sell us as a stepping stone, i forgot that one......i can live with that!!!!

Maybe PL to be fair is saying to Brendan * are you spending it on Brendan.

    Has anyone thought of that?

I'm not giving him Dembele as that was all but completed before he was here, outwith him who is playing in the 1st team? Ntcham, that's it.

His transfer dealings have been bordering on fkn ridiculous.

He's a good man manager and got players playing to their peak early doors, but looking at them at the moment that's waned, and he has nothing in reserve because of his lack of ability to spot a player in thw market.

So maybe we should be cutting PL a bit of slack.
