Theres something more to this than just a player huff brendan is indeed stopping the sales of moussa and boyatta but he has no backing of the board to get funds to replace them he probably does gave targets that the board wont pay the money for

 

Definitely his agent running his mouth on Twitter, wouldn't read too much into it.

Is in the agents interest to transfer the player every few years so he gets the big fees.

 

Its called forcing their hand ,buying club telling them to use all means to lower the price to wot they are willing to offer ,nothing weve not seen before ,if we have a valuation and its met he goes .

Surely the agent wouldn’t risk upsetting the main player he represents by saying something that Dembele isn’t thinking?

We all know Moussa was interested in that opportunity tbh. Back in his home land as the main striker at one of the biggest clubs, doubling his wage, and more of a chance of making the France squad.

Regardless, we have every right to reject a bid that doesn’t suit us.

I’ve never wanted an international break more than the next two weeks, think everyone needs a * breather from Celtic after this summer.

 

We're all surmising Brendan is to blame here? We don't know what's going on here but I will tell you this I would believe Brendan Rodgers before the likes of Dembele who has, in my eyes, conclusively shown his true colours to be treacherous towards our club, manager and wait for it coming down the pike.....our fans. He's shown real disrespect here and I could never view him with the same regard. No doubt his agent is behind this and looking for a big fee when he does go. Players are like cash cows.

Brendan likely feels betrayed like he hasn't got enough to deal with in the penny pinching board. Just one more season to try and kick on is all Brendan needed. Probably hoped to add a few good, reasonably affordable signings. We all know he's made a few mistakes all managers do but attitudes towards a man who has given us so much is shocking. 18m euro just isn't enough for a french, 22 year old. Proven striker with bags of talent. Case and point; we just paid 9m for an unproven 19 year old with precious little game time.

On another note, this lyon * of a chairman should be done for tapping up a player by uefa surely. When did it become legal to approach a player before a fee was agreed with the club.

He may well want to move on, but you’re kidding yourself if there aren’t people at Celtic actively trying to punt him this summer to maximise income.

If there’s debate between player and club it will be about destination rather than go or stay.

Also, the fact he’s agreed terms with Lyon before a price hardly reeks of a club desperate to keep the player. You would do that if you were desperate to punt the player. If you wanted to keep him you would force them to match your price first ..

 

This twitter stuff is madness. His most recent post almost directly calls Rodgers a fraud. And the posts which he has been "liking" on twitter essentially support that. He surely won't be selected by Brendan after those public posts. We need to just sell Moussa today, re-invest and move on. It would appear that verbal agreements of some sorts have been broken.

 

It's possible if you have a plan for contingencies. You can look at Lyon as an example who have targets in mind instantly. it's a joke we cannot have similar.
