Lack of transfer movement!

Thing is we have spent nothing this season if you look at the books with players sales.

It’s been pretty much like that for * knows how many years.

Even though we have allegedly broken our transfer record this summer we have balanced the books with player sales and then the VVD money as well.

We haven’t even touched the banked money yet and that’s the issue we need to add quality at the back.

It seems like Rodgers and the board want to spend money on quality on the midfield and for are like but canny be arsed spending where it’s needed most.

We need signings in the Ntcham and Eddy type at the back.

We are not going to improve if we don’t spend, we can clearly afford 10 million to be spent on 2 or 3 quality players without breaking the bank.

 

Another day another source linking Celtic to a player this time McKenna of Aberdeen sometimes I think the media just look at anyone mentioned with a transfer and hope it materialises so they can say we told you.

 

I honestly wonder why none of these rags have tried with a new rumor: Celtic won't be bringing any defenders in.

 

People keep going on about how much do we need to spend or we need to spend £15m a season etc ... I don't think anyone really cares how much we spend, could spend £5m or £15m on 3 players as long as they are good enough no one will care.

The only thing everyone I think agrees with is the need for a RB and a CB. Unless BR is deciding to give Gamboa a chance which I wouldn't mind.

The squad as a whole is very strong and constantly improving under BR, if it takes time for him to get who he wants then so be it. Our squad will win the league at a canter, our only difficulty is Europe and if we can't beat AEK Athens with our current squad we shouldn't be there. I think people panic too much and underrate how good our team actually is.

I think hes just seen as long term replacement for Brown in terms of attitude so no rush in signing him.

 

I still cant believe we haven't signed a single New player, you would think we were the skint ones in Glasgow. On top of that BR comments today about leaving it late to buy a defender is * bollocks. If you are happy with that * the shut the window for us and go and get pumped all over Europe AGAIN!!

Celtic will not sign a CB or RB this window as there is 5 CB and 3 RB and I was told nope we will - Brendan today confirms if we sold Boyata we wouldn't have enough time to bring a CB in and there is over 3 weeks left in the Scottish window which tells me our scouting department haven't even looked at any...

Have a feeling we will get the aussie kid and that that's our whack for the window.

Then we get a nice shareholders report showing lots of cash at the bank, at the AGM this year (if allowed) the question has to be asked why are we stockpiling cash in the bank accounts? Co-op debt is £16m payable in June 2019 but we need to run with some sort of debt for our credit rating, I am at a total loss tbh.

 

Was over the moon when we signed eddie permanent thought we would buy a few quality players but to buy no one is just * annoying

I think we will sign a few more. I think they are waiting for
1 ... To see if we get into group stages in Europe.
2 . The English window to close and see who we can pick up surplus to requirements.

It's a dangerous game to play if that's the way we are doing business...

If we don’t make the champions league stages without strengthening the defence there will be a lot of * off bhoys and girls around .It is very disappointing to see other teams strengthen while we stagnate .

 

Sometimes its better to see your opponents hand before you make your move ,only reason I can think of us being quiet just now is ,there are players lined up ,with back ups also if agents jump ship at the last moment ,feel this will be one of the most nerve wracking deadlines for us ,cool heads needed .

 

This has been a glaring issue at celtic since lenny. I can only prey brendans harsh words sends a chill down lawells spine and sparks him into life. We could well be witnessing brendans last season. A quiet january will be the final nail in the coffin. Eddy was a great start. Get a quality cb and paddy and all would be forgiven. Bring the great wall home anaw

 

I took him meaning that it would be tough to bleed a new CB for the CL Qualifiers, we’ve already looked at a RB so we will strengthen there. I take your point about the number of CBs on the books but it’s obvious we need another one..

We need to start acting like the CL club we consider ourselves to be..
