Neither Strachan or Lennon had to play against a team as good as PSG so this comparison is pointless.

Yeah already said this morning. They could do that to Man Utd or Liverpool easily.

This PSG team haven't won anything yet, they might yet win the champions league but until they win it they can't be classed as better than the Barca team we beat.

Brendan love you man and love what you have done for the club, but that was depressing.
You have asked the support to understand the way you want to play....yeah appreciate that.
But when teams have far superior players(and we have played plenty in the past), then we need different tactics(a good centre half bought in the summer...wouldn't have halted that last night).
We have to either shut up shop when playing away or/and play with a bit of steel and leave the boot in a few times to stop them from taking the */having more time on the ball etc. When we looked dangerous on the ball, they weren't frightened to leave the boot in to halt the attack.
Just felt we gave them too much respect and stood off them and let them play, still think we would have got beat, but it wouldn't have been a 12/1 tanking over the two legs.
We need to be nastier when required and it will be needed this Sunday.

That Barca team we beat was just as good, A.C. Milan where just as good also with Kaka, Guttuso, Seedorf, Maldini, Pirlo and Nesta.

Lennons team played, and beat, a Barcelona side every bit as good if not better than this PSG team.

This psg side tore barca a new one in paris, then bought the only player that * them back, there second best player. I hope they meet in the knockouts. Barca will be * it, if messi screws them, psg will just use his release clause. Afteral financial fair play doesnt count for them.

We are woefully equipped to compete against the big teams in Europe. It's becoming an annual event and I don't think it's gonna be any different next season should we qualify. It's one thing building a team to dominate domestically but something quite different building one to compete in Europe.

The Barca of the last few years is not as good as the one we played under NL. That Barca team was pretty much the one Guardiola brought to the peak of perfection. Messi, Xavi and Iniesta were all at the top of their game. The Barca of that era, around the time when they beat Man. Utd in the CL final, was the best team i have ever seen, better than this PSG side and so good it turned football into an art form.

There is always class sides throughout history. This psg side is going to become one just like barca did. Just like henkes bayern. Only psg are doing it with financial doping.

We are on the cusp of qualifying for the Europa league in a group that contained the most expensively assembled front line in history, the most expensive player in history and the hottest prospect in world football. They have embarrassed Bayern * Munich this season and last night became the record holders for goals scored in the group stages, with a game to spare!

As painful as that was - and it was * painful - it surely can't be surprising to anyone?

Anderlecht, last seasons EL quarter finalists, are our barometer this season. We are a pot 4 team about to finish 3rd. We are retaining possession a lot better in Europe (most of the time) and we are not afraid to get up the park and try to score goals.

Brendan wants us to compete in the CL, not just make up the numbers. I just don't see the point in sticking everyone behind the ball and losing 3/4-0 and learning absolutely nothing when we could continue to play the same way and keep evolving as a team. Make no mistake about it, horrific results like last night are paving the way for us to go on and dismantle Anderlecht in their own backyard with 63% possession, for us to be breezing through Scottish football with opposition players chasing ghosts.

It's not good what happened last night, you wouldn't be much of a supporter if that didn't kick you in the balls.

It's part of something though, a bigger picture, a grand plan to make us a European style football team and I completely trust the manager that he knows what he is doing.

If we qualify for the EL last 32, that to me says more about Brendan's philosophy and where we are headed as a club more than any tankings we might take.

All this fawning over PSG and how much they spend conveniently takes away attention from the fact that our defending was a * shambles as for the money I don't believe for one second we can't afford a better defender than boyata that guy is pish ,when your utility man is better than the supposed to be playind their position is a 7-1 spanking really that big a shock . Craig Gordons howlers cost us every year yet here we are again expecting something different.
Dermot Desmond talked at the start of this season (I'd imagine around season ticket renewal time)about aiming for the last 16 of the champions league yet we started out with 1fit cb ,who did we sign for this assault on the champions league Johnny hayes, ntcham and borrowed a man city player.how the * was that level of investment ever going to get you out of fourth place and before anyone retorts with were heading for the Europa league we ain't there yet with Gordon and boyata starting in the most critical of positions anything is possible

"How is that level of investment going to get you out of 4th place." While we are in 3rd.

I could loan you some full stops if you like, just give me a shout. :50:

7 goals just hurts. Twice in 18 months now, 12-1 over 180 mins this season against them.

If PSG hadn't taken the foot off the gas it would have been more. They were averaging a goal every 10 mins.

We all know about the gap in quality tbh and I'm sick of hearing about it. The manner in which we concede goals isn't on regardless, at least make them work for it ffs. There's a slackness and a laid back attitude to our defending.

PSG have scored 67 goals in 18 games so far this season! :eek1:

Averaging nearly 4 goals a game. Scored 6 goals on 2 occassions and 5 goals in 4 different games.

They have been doing it all season.

You can Post all the laughing Smiley's you like or act like the punctuation police if thats your thing but the fact remains we haven't qualified yet and may well finish fourth especially if we continue to defend like we did last night and it won't matter if the players cost £400 million or not if they are given the same time and space to play...............
