I don't understand how anyone could support that mob, and what they stand for.

Pretty much in the same camp myself. I don't automatically judge anyone for something so minor such as wearing a football strip.

Some of these people can't help the fact they support a vile football team. I absolutely hate Rangers as an institution and I think more times than not their fans do tend to be * but not every single one of them is. I at least make an attempt to not judge them immediately, until they open their mouth about football and start spouting vile chants and lies.

I have met a few decent ones though that tend to be the less hardcore majority.

Some of them are just ignorant, some of them just want to support their team and condemn the large proportion of fans who act abhorrently. There are some decent ones.

I know I'm going to be very unpopular saying this but take away our colours and the portion of football fans who exhibit vile behaviour and we have a lot more in common than we'd like to think being Scots/Glaswegians.

That's the ticket. :50: Live and let live that's my motto too.
It is patently wrong to make assumptions about people wearing different club colours.
There is good and bad everywhere.
I think the author of this thread was attention seeking.

Yes, I automatically think that. It is human nature. They start on a lower "standing" with me right away, but I don't let that define my perception of them. Some of the best people I know are huns. One of my best friends.

They start on that lower footing though because they have earned that horrible reputation, the club(s) and the fans. The new club I think are actually worse.

I would balk at the suggestion of judging someone because of their skin colour, race, religion, sexuality etc. but such is the utter contempt I have for that institution - in whatever form - that I do make prejudgements about people wearing their manky gear.

I view them the same way I view BNP supporters, KKK sympathizers, neo-Nazis etc: as subhuman bigoted filth.

A rangers fan going to a rangers game in a rangers top I dont judge. Most rangers fans I have known in life are perfectly decent people just like most people I have known in life.

At at a more subconscious level I probably apply 'full kit *' rules to any * in a football top that isn't watching football or playing in a game of football, or at least exercising. That is, they most likely look like a * in my eyes. But Im sure they are still lovely people.

I just quite like people in general..

I live in Boston, where there are virtually no Rangers tops, but because there is a massive Irish influence, you see plenty of Celtic support. For what it's worth, a good friend of mine that lives in the U.S. is Scottish and is also a Rangers fan, his whole family is, and he's a stand up person, who outside of your basic * talking towards Celtic, he doesn't take it too seriously, and he's mentioned many times how he just doesn't care for the inherent politics found within the Celtic/Rangers rivalry, he's in it for the football, I would by no means call him a *, but I also know him!

    "In it for the football".

That's like saying your only into the Third Reich for the uniforms.
    It's all part and parcel.

I've said it before and I say it again - choosing to support those clubs makes you one of them.
After a few drinks or a good win it all comes out of them. Oozing out of them like their fathers * out of their aunties *.
