Rematch will be in May, I can't see what Canelo does differently and GGG will win again.

Hopefully he knocks him out and can move on, he's only got a year to 18 months left in him IMO.

Could see there maybe being another fight in between this one and the rematch.
Could see Canelo countering him easier this time with more power and precision.

GGG will more than likely fight in December reading between the lines.

Jacobs deserves a rematch before Canelo IMO the fact he's not a name is the only reason there won't be.

Everyone Golovkin has fought or sparred has says his jabs are power punches. As for his next opponent you can rule Billy Joe Saunders out, as he called out Amir Khan.

Golovkin stops him next time for me..

That looked like it took everything out of Canelo (breathing heavy and found it extremely uncomfortable a few rounds in) whereas Golovkin was smiling, loving it and unfazed till the last bill. He'll do that and more next time..

Secretly I think Canelo won't want that again but it has to happen regardless..

Alvarez will wait as long as possible.

    * a fly man, he should have got his * in the ring after the first time he said he never feared GGG. I said at the time he went down in my estimation and has done so even more now.

Aye I'd like to see that fight again. Golovkin and Canelo are both pretty active fighters, and don't tend to wait ages between bouts.
I don't see Canelo fighting him again so soon, he'll defo want to wait a bit first.

Glad you enjoyed it mate, if any mma fans decided to tune in after watching MayMac then this is a good a fight as any to make them include some boxing in their combat sports viewing.

I honestly think the GGG that fought last night would give some of the best middleweights ever a tough time. He was absolutely relentless and fought like a man possessed, just a great fight all round and I'm already looking forward to a rematch. I really don't know what Canelo can do differently mind, other than pray GGG gets old quickly.

He looked tired early on to me, but in fairness he did seem to suck it up and get on with it well enough.

He's definitely a guy who's built for power and getting guys out early, GGG on the other hand seems to have a disgusting combination of insane power, a ridiculous chin and quality engine :boxing:

Not sure. Canelo is a tough *. He won't be stopped easy. But then again, GGG is a * animal and hits like a mule.
Same with GGG. Simply don't think he can be KO'd. He just literally walks through the punches ... I do think he's weak to the body though.

    Had it 116-112 for GGG.

Some of the worst judging I've ever witnessed in boxing last night from Adalaide Byrd. She should seriously lose her job after that. I also think Don Trella's judgement (114-114) is being overlooked slightly. Somehow he managed to score the seventh round for Canelo and was the only judge to do so. Mind boggling. For me that was a very strong round for Golovkin. Had Trella watched and scored that round correctly the right man wins.

Excellent fight which was ruined in some way by incompetent or perhaps corrupt judging.

He knew it would not have went the distance back then.

But to be fair i did think it was a great performance from Alvarez, and there was not much else he could do. He showed me he will rule the middleweight and Super middle scene when Golovkin hangs them up. Cant see a Ward fight happening. Who will stop him? His biggest challenges will probably come from this side of the pond. Degale, Eubank Jr etc. After seeing how he dealt with Golovkin they look like easy fights.

He did get a second and third wind but he certainly didn't find it comfortable in there..

Canelo is tough, but he met someone tougher than him and it doesn't sit well with him which is why we saw that macho bravado *..

Triple G ate all of Canelo's best body shot's and barely flinched. I don't buy that..

I've never seen a boxer with a chin like GGG's before.

Even if he's only feigning not being hurt he stomps through shots that knock folk clean out and comes forward off the back of them. Unbelievable mental and physical toughness.

I just hope he doesn't pay for it in later life. It can't be good for you.

Aye my pal was saying there's another super fight in December with a Ukrainian guy I should watch.

Will probably give it a bash. Preferred that Golovkin fight to any of the fights on the UFC card last night.

I'm positive i seen him wicning from body shots, especially a left early on in the fight, maybe the 4th round ?
I don't think I've ever seen a chin like GGG before. Someone who's happy to take a punch to land one. And just walks through combos, smiling. Not human.
