Bollocks, it's the exact same irrelevant * as claiming somebody who hasn't analysed the club's financial report has no right to be annoyed over the lack of spending compared to our humongous income.

It's not about the amount of posts it's about what is contained in the posts..

No it's not, for so many reasons. Here are just the two most important:

    1) Saying that you have to have played professional football to criticise a professional footballer would be more or less analogous to saying that you have to have been on the board of a large PLC to criticise our board. Minty did not say that.

    2) The accounts are public and indeed people like Sween, TT and Minty even take the time to post relevant information on here and explain it. The only thing stopping people using this information is that they can't be bothered or don't want to (because then they'd have to get down off their high horse).

    Back to the thread....

bottom line, we do our business well, discreet, lawfully (wink, wink) and in concordance with our market.

A mere 10M misspent could quite literally hamper us both financially and indeed in the transfer market due to being over cautious in future pursuits of players.

We're punching above our weight in the CL, will be for a time,(until the sky/EPL balloon bursts * all over European football markets), we dominate at home and we protect our rep in Euro football.

Might not be enough for some but its more than enough for me right now.

Bit disappointed that one supporters view is considered irrelevant due to number of posts.

My reason for chiming in especially this season is that for the first time since O'Neill we are on the verge of something very, very special and I desperately want to see it happen.

It is already happening. Regardless of whether we find another gem this window, it doesn't turn on that, it is happening already.

Rubbish, it isn't anywhere near as specific or detailed as you're now pretending it was. It was clearly a statement of "don't criticise the lack of spending without analaysing the club financial reports", in response to criticism of a post that claimed we've spent all of last year's CL money.

To have spent net of £4mil on the back of 2 CL qualifications, 2X50,000 season tickets, and all of our other sources of income is incredibly lowball, incredibly cheap.

Time to get off your own high horse, pal.

It's not a case of one guys view being more important than yours. I won't speak for JC but for myself.
My perception of a fellow poster who comes in to post or start a thread negatively when everything has been better than it's ever been, usually raises my suspicions. If he has been absent during good times and reappears it gets everyone's radar bleeping. I'm sure this would be a case on most football forums.
We have had a high number of critical posters appear after a bad result.

I don't think that's true mate. 5 pages of debate on here suggest the view is not considered irrelevant at all!

Sometimes football fans can be guilty of being overly negative even when things are going well (I know plenty and can be guilty of it too). I think the low post count maybe suggests this person might be suffering from that.

Come on mate, you can't throw about statements like, 'Spent £4m on the back of £60m in plus 2x50k' and not expect someone to suggest you need to look at the figures.

It's a way of saying it's not as simple or as black and white as that. There's so many other costs and causes in there.

Obviously we're in profit and there's some cash that can be spent, but let's not exaggerate.

Think for a minute, mate. Here is how the relevant analogies work:

    1) You can't criticise a professional footballer without having played professional football yourself = You can't criticise our board without having been on the board of a large PLC yourself.

    Equivalent and both bonkers.

    2) You can't criticise the board's spending and investment without having taken the trouble to read our financial reports = You can't criticise our players without having taken the trouble to watch us play.

    Equivalent and both common sense.
