This has dragged on far too long, My take on it now is:
1. It can only be a permanent deal, City don't want Roberts to go out on loan to us they would rather he went to their feeder club in Spain. Roberts turns it down then City say if you want to go to Celtic then its on a permanent and pay us £xm amount.
2..Celtic have given up on Roberts as he has decided to stay with City, we are working on bringing somebody else in to play rw but using Roberts story to keep the media away from speculating who it is.

I can just see this saga carrying on until deadline day, and then we don't sign him. With PL giving it all that we tried but couldn't get it done. Then we'll get a token, unknown average player on loan instead.

 

The way Lawwell and Rodgers have been talking about him in the last few days it seems as though the deal is nowhere near to being finalised. Personally, i think if it goes through at all it'll be a deadline day deal. I've no doubt Paddy has great affection for the club but he's an ambitious lad and i feel he's waiting to see what offers he gets.

 

I'm now resigned to this not happening TBH.

 

Anybody else worried., this isn't happening on any level!

Hope we've been working on a plan B.

hes probably guaranteed the loan but were maybe trying to sort out an option to buy at the end of the loan or trying to sort out a permanent move just now, he will be here either way

This exactly , he's out of the squad to face Bournemouth again aswell it will happen if it's today or next week won't change anything

 

Yes I can see Rodgers being happy with being forced to keep Paddy out the team for today's game, just to trick the fans into not hoping for anyone else.
