This evening Rosenberg knocked out Ajax (Last years Europa League finalists) 4-2 on Aggregate.

Seems like we knocked out a very decent side.

 

Happy with Bayern. * Neymar the wee Hun *.

 

Was disappointed with the draw initially, but the more I think about it the happier I am with it. Looking at the order the fixtures turned out, I think we can shock PSG in the 1st game at CP.
They have spent a lot of money and their chief is demanding instant CL success. I think with the added pressure and the fact that they'll have a relatively new-look team that are probably still gelling, I think we can at least get a draw.

That would give us a lot of confidence heading to play Anderlecht, who will likely be just on the back of a spanking from Bayern. We could definitely get another draw here and maybe even * a win.

Granted the next 3 games are tough ones, so I don't expect us to get anything from them. But they'll have a 'nothing to lose' feel to them so you'd never know.

Then we head into OUR CL final on matchday 6. Hopefully in a position where a draw might even be good enough for 3rd, but even if we do need to get the win, we are usually hitting top form around late November, early December so I can see us getting the win in front of our home fans.

Either way, I'm absolutely buzzing for this!

 

I've got to admit I'm a bit gutted. On the one hand there is a decent chance of EL football (should be a good fight with Anderlecht for 3rd, although I'd put us at slight favourites); but to get Bayern and PSG is a shocking draw. Both of these are a class above Man City last year, two of the top 5 teams in Europe IMO.

Really disappointing.

 

I see what you mean. A team like Porto in pot 2 would have been great. With PSG it's basically a play off for 3rd with Anderlecht.

 

Ah, well, mate. We're getting better. Hopefully we've reached a stage now where absolute pumpings aren't very likely. As long as we win the head to head with Anderlecht to take 3rd and give a respectable account of ourselves at home against the other two, I'll be happy.

 

As hard as the games against PSG and Bayern will be this team has grown so much over the past year, I just can't see us getting a doing like we did last year away to Barca.

I keep changing my mind whether we will get 6 points against Anderlecht or beating them at home and beating one of PSG or Bayern at home to get us 3rd

Obviously PSG and Bayern are huge names but to completely write off our chances of taking anything is laughable.

We've beaten:

Messi, Xavi & iniesta's Barcelona

Kaka, Pirlo & Nesta's AC Milan

Ronaldo, Giggs, Scholes & Rooney's Man United

Del Piero, Davids & Nedved's Juventus

Anything is possible. A difficult task of course but we have every reason to believe it is not insurmountable. Win our home game v Anderlecht and we have a great shout for at least 3rd spot.

 

Celtic step up against the best all the time and we will be better than last season the crucial game is we step up against the lesser opposition like anderlecht we do that then we will be in europe after Christmas
