I wouldn't say that saying he was 'utter knickers' during a season when he played through six months of tendonitis in his hamstrings is being impartial to be honest.

You're even trying to take credit away from his better performances by saying that Wanyama and Ledley were the ones that held the midfield together ffs.

Also if you think his game is purely chasing down opposition then you are doing him a massive disservice.

Beggars belief that people genuinely think someone can be a Celtic captain for 8 seasons and be a regular starter for 10, under 5 different managers, and not actually be a good "footballer".

He also didnt play at home to Molde, and the entire team had nightmares against Malmo away and Molde away, to pick them out as examples of Scott Brown being a liability is honestly strange. Yes he will have played badly in those games but no one is saying he plays brilliantly in every single game. You have some neck to talk about impartiality.

Ntcham takes a lot of weight off him, they can rotate who drops to pick the ball up off the centre halves.

He couldn't of misplaced a single pass until 1 where Rogic was slack to react with about 10/15 to go..

SB: “It’s always going to be a hard game coming over here. We’ve struggled here in the past, but we know what we’re up against.

SB: “We done really well in the home game, but it’s only half way. We need to make sure that we perform yet again.”

SB: “We won't be complacent. We come here prepared and we want to play our own attacking and creative football.”

SB: “We know Astana is a hard place to come. They haven’t lost here so we want to try and win this game as well.”

SB: “The lads have come back from pre-season in a lot better condition that we have in the past so we're a lot fitter than last year."

SB: “The gaffer wants us to be in peak condition all year round. He makes sure we eat the right foods and come back in the right condition."

SCOTT Brown is adamant Celtic will go into tomorrow’s crucial UEFA Champions League play-off second leg fully prepared and looking to win.

The Celtic captain was quick to dispel any notion that the Hoops’ 5-0 lead from the first leg guarantees them a place in the group stages of the completion and insisted that Celtic would continue to try and assert their style of football on their opposition.

Speaking to the media prior to the game in the Astana Arena, the Celtic captain said: “We don’t want to get complacent. We want to play our own attacking and creative football. We know Astana is a hard place to come. They haven’t lost here so we want to try and win over here as well.

“We take every game seriously. We always do an analysis of our opponents and make sure we do everything properly. You never know what can happen in football, but as long as we do everything properly and start the game the way we plan to, we should hopefully get a good result.”

When reflecting on the team’s strong performance against Astana last week at Paradise Brown said that the busy pre-season schedule, coupled with the manager’s ethos, has left the players in top physical shape.

“The gaffer wants us to be in peak condition all year round," he said. "He understands we go on holidays but he wants to make sure we eat the right foods and come back in the right physical condition that will allow us to push on.

“We’re a lot fitter than we were before. The gaffer and his backroom staff have also had us watching a lot more videos of Astana to see how they play and to see how we can attack them and find way through them.”

Very disappointing from him tonight - Usually steps up to the mark on these occasions but he was making some very poor errors in dangerous positions rather than keeping it simple.
