Wee bit nervous like others, but that's the nature of these qualifiers. I'm only nervous cause we're still in pre-season, and I presume Rosenborg are halfway through their campaign?

The fact that Roy Carroll stopped us getting a basketball score though makes me think we will have enough for this lot.

    Plus we've got Brendan :brendy:

I thought it was maybe because he was on a yellow? But the more I think on it I get the feeling it was a message to his agent. Your client is good but not indespensible to us. Armstrong seems professional so dont think it was anything to do with him or attitude etc. But a message to his agent to maybe stop playing hardball.

It will be an edgy and close match. Rosenberg will respect us but will be very aware of our away record in Europe and keep things organised and tight. They will aim to frustrate us as much as possible to give them a good chance in the return leg.

    I'm going for a 1-0 or 2-1 win.

2-0 would be great, especially keeping a clean sheet. I'm sure this team can score away to Rosenborg so we just need to make sure we keep a clean sheet at home.

I think the only reason I'm slightly concerned over this tie is because the name.

Granted the last two years dundalk have been steadily increasing their European rep with some very respectable results, but still this lot had to go into extra time to dump dundalk out.

2-0 at home and we should be OK, looking forward to this as it will be good to see how our players perform so early on in the season against a much more challenging side.

I don't think it'll be easy at all. I'd love to be proved wrong.

We are done with CL reg until the group stages right?

Was hoping they see this game as an excuse to go force through the caulker deal but if the above is true doubt we will see any movement in transfers.

Have to say that I'm more than a wee bit nervous about this one, but I am a pessimist by nature unfortunately

Our finishing needs to be sharper than it was first half yesterday, must have been half a dozen complete sitters missed we won't have the luxury of that going forward, this next round is where real banana skin results can happen.

Still, we should have enough to get past them comfortably assuming no brainfart individual errors, they're not the team they once were, and we're in the best place we've been in years.

Don't fret my man I watched Rosenborg vs Dundalk last night(well I recorded it on RTE) and they are not a great side. Quite slow all over the pitch, I have a feeling we could score a few goals if were up to speed. I cant see us not going through- they are a pale imitation of old Rosenborg teams. Much like us under Deila.

We should beat rosonborg home and away however they will nkt play like thy did again Dundalk, don't be surprised to see them line up as Linfield did, try to frustrate us at home only lose 1-0 2-1 somthing like that and same again at their spot. They won't come play us man for man they know we are too good, if they come at us at park head we will destroy them.

We should respect them but we should be capable of beating them home and away and going though with little trouble

Clean sheet at home is essential, always nervous when you play a team well into their season.
Would have liked a wee run out on Sat to keep us ticking over.

A 2 or 3-0 victory would be ideal.

I haven't seen Rosenborg play in many a year but from all reports I've seen, we should dispatch of them.

I'd play the same team as last night apart from putting in Erik for McGregor and playing our usual 4-2-3-1
