Everyone is welcome. It's what makes Celtic the club it is.

I've mentioned this a few times on here, there really should be some sort of scheme where non attending STHs can donate their ticket, and I think it has to be donate rather than sell, otherwise people with the cash will just buy a season ticket anyway and come to the big games, and not be seriously out of pocket.
I have a season ticket and live in Bristol so obviously when I do come up, it tends to be for big games, BUT my ticket is used every week.

That's my point mate. Sometimes because of the diversity of our support we could do with being sometimes able to sell our seat back.

To put a single different angle on it, I think it is sad that celtic price entry at a level that knowingly prevents many people in the local areas from going. Some of the poorest areas in the Scotland and even the UK are around Celtic park and asking people living there to drop £600+ over a season makes it almost impossible for them to go regularly. In the modern era, Celtics target consumer has never been based in the poorer local areas.

And as others have said here, I think a fan donation system set up by the club would be a great idea to use tickets where season book holders cant get to the games.

I would definitely use it as my job means I work a lot of weekends, at present I give it to my cousin or my daughter, but a scheme like that I would give up my seat for people that cannot get because of circumstances.

Edit: and to be fair to the club they are one of the best in their charity work and schemes helping some of those worse off in society.

I think you should support your local club. I've got a mate from Newry who "supports"Man United. I ask him why he doesn't support Newry City and he says because they're pish. hmmm, I wonder why? Worst thing about it is that he's a republican. Idiot haha

Sure the Glory hunters help the club but I do think one should support Aberdeen if one comes from Aberdeen

So you think someone who is a Celtic fan and there father and grandfather were Celtic fans if their worked meant they moved to Aberdeen should bring there son up to be an Aberdeen fan ?

You also get a lot of glory hunters from Glasgow :fear:

Obviously as Celtic fan I'm more than happy that we have supporters from different places (the more the merrier) of but I don't think it's good for the game in general

And the commitment of those who travel every week is commendable.

Fair enough. I just think sometimes people ( not just you) can throw the "glory hunters " tag around a bit quickly and it often doesn't really stand up too much scrutiny. I know plenty of Celtic fans living in Yorkshire who have had season tickets for 20 odds years ( I had mine for 19). These folk travelled up to pretty much every home game during the Ronny years for example when a lot of people from Glasgow didn't bother turning up to games.

Which is sort of my issue with the OP. I'm sure plenty of people on here that have been Celtic fans will tell you these things are usually cyclical ( though maybe not this time). I don't think it would make any sense at all to start discriminating against those fans that have stood by Celtic through the rough times ( not saying you are) in terms of other fans just because they live in Glasgow. Will never happen anyway which is why I was so succinct in my reply to the OP.

Travelling over since '95, never with a supporters club or had a season ticket just always organised things for me and the mates (or the missus a few times), average about 5/6 a season till the WGS years, only about 1 or 2 a season these last few year's. Including midweekers. Never once been made feel unwelcome, in fact the 100% total opposite.

Only managed once last season but it was a meaningful one for me anyway. Since I first walked into that stadium I've dreamt of the day when I had children and bringing them over. Got my 5&7 year old boys to their first game in Paradise in December. Again, whoever we met or spoke to especially around the stadium was warm and friendly and I sure as * wouldn't have brought my boys somewhere I wasn't certain they'd be welcomed or accepted.
I'll be travelling over again next year hopefully more than once.

Did you used to go on the Naomh Padraig CSC ? I went to a couple of games with them when I was at Uni in Limerick. Used to get a mini bus up to Dublin then at that time I think there was sometimes three coaches they used to take over on the boat.

No mate. I do think one of the lads we travelled with had contacts there and we got tickets thru them once or twice tho.
    Usually we'd organise everything ourselves.
