About 4 weeks ago we had a brand new Biasi combi boiler fitted. It worked fine for a week and then problems.

It wouldn't heat the rads and cut out every 4 minutes. The guy who installed it talked us through changing the settings, so it now heats the rads but still cuts out every 4 minutes.

It goes up to 85 degrees and then cuts out. The central heating pump comes back on after about 10 seconds but no flame. The boiler temp flashes until it gets down to 60, about 2 minutes. Then the flame comes on and it rises to 85 after a further 2 minutes and then cuts out and we start again.

The guy who installed it says this is normal but I disagree

85 degrees sounds way too high thought the average is about 65 can you lower it ?

Probably, but that will only make it cut out quicker. 65 instead of 85

It's supposed to cut out when it reaches the desired temperature, it should restart tho when it drops. Not sure why it's not restarting

Sorry if not clear. It is restarting, but every 4 minutes. Is this normal.

Bit of a bummer that I work on commercial CHP systems so have a bit of knowledge in that field
But not great, does your boiler give you any warning or fault when it trips ?

No error codes. When it gets to 85 it cuts out and temp flashes, when it gets down to 60 flashing stops

Yea it probably is. There is no point in it being lit the whole time. Every 4 minutes seems excessive though

Could be a pressure issue? The safety valve will kick in if pressure gets too high or low etc and if it is brand new I assume it might have some sort of quick fill sensor which would refill it when it drops. Could be a leak or something in the pipework somewhere.

Check the pressure valve on your unit it should stay around 1.5 to 2 bar maybe slightly higher or lower

Exactly, also why would heating pump run if no flame? Hot water either takes ages to come through or doesn't come through.

Couldn't get a shower this morning but hot water fine this evening. Maybe I didn't give it long enough this morning

Right try turning the stat up higher see what that does mate but all pointing to an issue within the
boiler or even if you can do a system reset power on off try that.

    Get your man back mate

Phone Biasi, get them out under the warranty. A new boiler shouldn't be doing that.

That is pretty much bang on, would keep checking it once every while see if it goes up or down. Once every four minutes or so turning on and off isn't normal, even if your house insulation isn't up to much, i.e old windows, old style tenemant etc. Once every 20 mins or so to get it back up to temp or higher I would say is average.

May be a faulty sensor or something along they lines, and if it is faulty just now, it will only get worse such are the way these things are built.
