Anyone do this? I've got a few mates who are Celtic fans but none that can commit to going every second week, for whatever reason.

I have been really tempted to buy a season ticket on my own, these last few seasons and just make the journey by myself. I'm actually really kicking myself that I never done it this year :54:

    Anyone else done it/do it?

I've been to a couple of European games with friends (in 99) and my stepfather (in 92), but all the domestic games I went to when I lived in Glasgow were on my own.

Been to quite a few on my own, when I was in university used to go straight from uni then home after and not see any of my mates who where there but just sit in a different area.

The guy I used to sit beside in JS upper always drove in from Johnstone on his own as well. Youd be surprised how many actually do go on there own

I do get to some games with friends and when I'm not there, I watch all of the games live on TV, one way or another.

It's good to hear others have done it.

Was the experience just as good or not though? Can understand twist and turns not enjoying it, due to what he was watching.

I suppose there's only one way to find out and that's just to go for it. Maybe getting on a supporters bus would help?

Edit* I'm in Edinburgh... Which obv isn't too far.

Went myself for a few years but got to know the people next to me in the different areas I was in so it wasn't so bad.

I find its just as good going yourself as you can appreciate the football and pay more attention to whats happening, whereas if i go with mates im usually pished and more focused on getting further pished afterwards :smiley-laughing002:

I've never done it. I don't even watch on the telly alone. Think I might have done once on a bad acid trip.

    Cheers lads.

I have only been to one game on my own before (we beat the Huns 3-0 and i got the £42 ticket for £20 thanks to some dude on our bus dressed as the pope, but that's another story :icon_mrgreen:).

Anyway, off to bed now... You've definitely all helped me edge closer to just going for it.

    Cheers :50:

Aye, done it loads of times. I don't mind it because I go to watch the game more than I go for the social aspect of it.

I used to do it all the time, 7 hour round trip driving.
My 4 year old has had a season ticket for the last 2 years though, so usually he's with me now. Or occasionally a mate will come down with me.
Do still go myself sometimes though.
