The only way we can go into these CL games for me is with Brown-Bitton-McGregor in a flat 3. We've already witnessed either of the 3 as a pairing getting humiliated by poor opposition, so better just packing that area rather than sticking Rogic further up the park where he'll be ineffective as the long balls get launched from our defence, bypassing everyone in the middle of the park.

In defence, I wonder how a back 3 of Toure-Sviatchenko-Simunovic would work. If we can keep Simunovic injury free for more than a few games.

 

Can we not just have 2 goalkeepers in goals for barca?

Yeah not a chance Rodgers just happily surrenders possession and tells us to sit back all game, more chance us putting an extra midfielder to help us retain possession than putting in an extra CB.

 

If playing on the counter then there needs to be someone in transition with an accurate long pass, so if flooding the midfield get Rogic in there to spray the long passes and give the striker(s) a chance. Without that accurate passing it'll just be wave after wave of attack.

 

These teams arent gonna come here and sit back defending like spfl teams. And i doubt very much that we can keep them out. We will get space to attack and i can see lots of goals at parkhead. I honestly think our best chance for results is to outscore the opposition. Hopefully we dont take a hammering along the way.

 

I'd give Hendo a run out in next to Brown, he loves a tackle and a good right foot on him.

Ajer has been playing in the development squad for the past month now not even making the bench for first team games, Breandan obviously feels he isn't ready yet.

Having a read i reckon folk just want change for changes sake . Now that the window is shut it is clear who are strong midfielders are and who has the ability and experience that make them first pick.

People calling for Henderson and Ajer to be thrown in for Brown or Biton need a reality check.

do you think they could go 3 at the back with the 2 wing backs - jozo might have a part to play when fit, so for the most part its effectively a back 3 with the 2 wb's supporting midfield?

The massive pitch at Nou Camp would be good for Roberts & Sinclair & the Barca defence cant handle people running at them would love to see Sinclair have a go at them but Brown & Bitton will really have to play out their skin to protect back 4 & somehow try & break up play which really is gonna be so difficult
