Agree. Been saying that in other posts. It's like after years of not qualifying, The Board's goal was to qualify and having done that, job done. Cannot believe even the most fervent Bhoy can look at our midfield and think the other 3 teams in our group will not run through us - home & away. So want to be proved wrong but history shows that in Europe, when teams come at us, we run around like headless chickens. We needed someone with quality to calm.things & direct operations - we don't have that player. Opportunity missed.

Thats the worry. Folk talking about it being a long game, be patient etc. Well he'll get sick of this * pronto. Where's the long game then. Wanted a CM, stated it on numerous occasions, must have had a few in mind & none appear.

Last time everyone was crying out for a CM like you say it was a certain Stefan Johansen.. Just let that sink in.

    Shocking.

I would happily accept the we tried bullshit if it was just this once but it has happened for the last four deadlines at least and they expect us to believe their * not anymore. Our midfield is more than domestically capable but for the champions league I fear the worst.

The fans deserve better in return for paying such money. Even teams down south don't pay that.. Really feel the board have done some fans over unless they can repay the fans back in January but very much doubt it as they are tight * anyway. But they need to agnowledge the fans discontent and really get a cracking CM in January or face the raft from the fans

He'll say all the right things but there's no doubt he wanted a CM.

Brendan will be here 2 years max. No way he'll put up with this * for much longer than that, he'll be back down south once some of the better premier league sides become interested in him again.

    * pathetic , season tickets as all sold ,champions league money secured loads of players shifted and we didn't bother strengthening the central midfield area what is the point of making a big deal of getting into the champions league if not to get us better players in I ain't gonna enjoy getting humped around Europe while them * come out with the we tried pish it's not * good enough

Did Brendan specifically state anywhere that he wanted a new CM?

If he wasn't after a new centre midfielder I'd be very concerned about his ability to evaluate a squad. We have the weakest central midfield in our history right now. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that.

Maybe he's looking at someone from the developmental side.

He is very big on youth and making young players into stars.

Anyone aware of standout midfielders in the Celtic youth ranks?

We are not getting a cracking player in January, we will here the same excuses from people on here again saying there is no value ect ect and Lawwell will say the same prices are too high and people will belive it again.

Same old same old. * joke we had a week to sign someone they should have had it done and yet again they * dragged their heels.

Well I'm * off and going to bed! Hail Hail

What's the chances we may still bring in someone out of contract? There was a wee list posted a few weeks back with some decent names on it.

Someone mentioned Flamini being a free agent earlier.
