No real expectations from this group. I'll be disappointed if we can't manage three points or more, but would totally understand if that's what happens given the strength of the opposition.

Would have preferred an easier group just so I could see us have a bit of a go in some games, but I can see the games against Barcelona and Man City taking the same pattern where we'll struggle to get near 30% possession and the majority of the games will be us defending and struggling to keep the ball and they're always a difficult watch.

Six points is about the best I can see us doing in this group. The home game against Gladbach is our best chance of a win obviously and hopefully we can pull of one win against either Barcelona or Man City at home, but that's going to be incredibly difficult.

It would be a bit of a miracle for us to get any points away from home so just hoping we don't get hammered in any of the away games.

We are looking like we will have great counter attacking players and a good system to deploy it. If we stay solid at the back 30% might just be enough to grab some points. :50:

Problem is we look anything but solid at the back, the kind of quality we're up against will ruthlessly exploit our weaknesses if the concentration levels are not up to scratch.

Hopefully mate. I know possession isn't the be all and end all of football, but I was thinking about it more from a fans point of view of having to watch our team run and chase all the time and struggling to have a threat at the other end.

You saw a lot of that against Hapoel Beer-Sheva the other night where we struggled really badly to hold onto the ball and by * it's a tough watch when it's like that.

I really hope we can have a counter attacking threat in those games, but it's going to be extremely difficult to have that threat against teams that are just so good at keeping the ball.

Maybe one or two more quality signings can help us.

Back 5 of lustig, jozo, Toure, Erik and Tierney might make us look a lot more solid for these games. I don't think we are too far away from being a decent team for this. I'd take 4 points just now though.

Well we can write off matchday one. Games two, three and four are going to make or break us.

Depends. Imagine barca and city have qualified. City will play a team of kids in our last game. Those 3 points may just be enough to put us 3rd as barca may rest some but not to the extent city will but still I'd expect then to win.

Anyway after we shock the world with a 3-1 win in game one, we'll be well on our way.

I see their changing the Champions League set up but we wont be excluded.
One thing they are doing is taking away the country part of the coefficient contribution.
That means no more relying on other Scottish clubs to * up our chances.

A new system for the club coefficients: clubs will be judged on their own records (deletion of the country share for individual club coefficient unless that coefficient is lower than 20 per cent of the association's coefficient). *Historical success in the competition will also be acknowledged in coefficient calculation (points for previous European titles with a weighted system for UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League titles)

What does that mean exactly though?does How well Scottish teams do still determine how many places are allocated to Scotland? Which will also determine what stage we enter qualification at.

Get all of these negative comments and stick them in the dressing room for some motivation, not that the players will need it!
