Aye he managed to get his hand/fingers to it so I would have thought he could/should have managed to flick/push it over the bar. Not convinced in him either being honest. Can only hope CG is putting in a lot of work in training and take it from there.

Doesn't fill me with confidence but won't be making any damning statements about him just yet.

I think it's pretty obvious that Gordon is the better keeper. I would have made a better attempt at saving that free kick last night.

Brendan cant get them all right, he may have done a job for him in the past, but in the present this guy should be no where being the number 1 goalkeeper, Gordon is the best of a bad lot, we could get shot of all 4 keepers on our books and not miss any 1 of them

Only positive is in Scotland we look like we can score 3 or 4 in every game this season

He doesn't add anything to the team, definitely not better than Gordon.
He shouldve saved 3 or 4 of them goals last night, like messi's first, saurez's goal and the free kick, probably 1 or 2 more

And his kicking/passing really isn't that great either so I don't get it.

The first goal was straight at him i think and he just fell to the ground.

He really doesn't command his area at all.

His distribution doesn't look anything spectacular.

No better than Gordon so would be putting Gordon back in and hope this wee spell has done him good.

It was a powerful effort from Messi, the 1st goal. I'm not gonna blame anyone for them scoring 7, particularly as they were 7 wonderful goals.

DeVries - there was one moment in the game the ball ended up at his feet, he looked up and put a pinpoint pass right on to Roberts' head just out near the half way line on the right of the field. That is something Gordon cannot do.

Everyone calling for Gordon back....remember this is the guy that almost everyone to a man wanted dropped immediately but 3 games ago.

De Vries has literally walked into the club. He has 3 games under his belt after being out injured before he came here, his first game was against one of our biggest teams last season, the 2nd in a high pressure game against Sevco, and the 3rd against the greatest team on the planet.

Calm the * doon and give him time. I trust Brendan's judgement.

Dembele was taking pelters as well after just a few games, remember that?

I don't like how he does not come out to grab the ball and lets the defence do things for him.

Give the guy a chance, remember this was against Barcelona.

Alternatively, if you keep slagging him off, every sane Forest fan would take him back instantly

I haven't seen this game yet, only the goals. What I will say is that in the Sevco game (which I have watched twice), it is noticeable that his kicking is very good. I think he played a big part in keeping the pressure on the huns in that respect.

Having said that, I suspect Gordon is a better shot stopper; but as you say, we should reserve judgement on that until he gets properly up to speed.

With all due respect to Forest, they're a midtable Championship side and can't do any better than De Vries. We can and on evidence of his 1st 3 games he's nowhere near good enough for us. Joey 'MIA' Barton got into the Championship Team of The Year.

12 shots on target and 9 goals conceded. Pathetic.

He was signed mainly because of his use of the ball, but so far he has looked pretty poor in that department in my opinion. I said on Saturday that I felt he got caught under the ball as the only place Miller could really have scored was by going back across goals. There was no way he could generate enough power on the header to beat him at his front post, so he had to go across goals and De Vries got caught underneath it. He should be saving Neymar's free kick last night also I think. Of course the defence could have done better, but we are talking about De Vries here, and so far he hasn't looked any better than Gordon.

Hard not to criticize the guy when we would be slaughtering Craig Gordon for that performance.

Aye it was when you seen the free kick from behind it and realised it was nowhere near the corner that I felt it was poor goalkeeping. It's one I would expect to be dealt with anyway. I'm far from convinced so far either mate.

35 and has been in the lower leagues the vast majority of his career. Did Brendan really expect him to be good enough at this level?

Would Bitton be an option for keeper? He can pass the ball ok!

It's not even just the goals, i don't think he commands his box well, or at least not any better than Gordon.

I agree that Gordon needed to be dropped as he was making a lot of mistakes, but is big Dorus really the best we could come up with as a replacement ?

Do you think Gordon or someone else we could have realistically signed would have done any better to stop that mauling they gave us last night?
