I see a bid's just been rejected from Burton just promoted from the championship for him, personally thought he was going be one for the future going on by his performance in the friendly vs Liverpool but then again that was the only game I've watched him properly, still think he'll develop further and end up at a higher level than a team like County

 

He strikes me as one of those players who just need run of games in order to show what he can do, and here that could never happen.

He's a good lad and a good player. I'll keep an eye on him.

Decent player,think it shows how overrated the championship is tbh,we would horse that league by a country mile imo

 

Probably a player we should have given an opportunity. Glad to see he is doing well for himself.

Reckon we're gonna regret letting this one go. Scored again last night.

 

Surely no regrets. I would rather our youth team players made it elsewhere and let them earn a decent living from the game. Our youth set up does well they may not all get through to the first team but we don't produce too many duds.

 

He's in good form and is been chased by a few championship clubs. He would have been a handy player to keep in the squad given how he is playing now but he's growing with playing first team football and he wasn't going to get that at Celtic

 

We don't regret letting him go, but for how much. Another we let go for fuckall but is probably a 1.5-2 million pound Championship signing..

 

Not only from our stand point, but from County's as well. Burton paid around £150k for him and they'll end up making 20 times that this window or in the summer.

 

If they were clever, they'd of put a good percentage on his sale..

 

He was the key player for County last season along with Boyce, could see from the start he had plenty potential with his debut in the friendly against Liverpool, good to see the lad is doing well.

 

Agree with that a bit like McGregor would have made a decent squad player domestically etc. He left under Ronny so no point in moaning about it maybe Brendan would have seen something different in Irvine and realised he had some potential and would have made him part of the squad but it's done now we move on and good luck to him.

Meant to add as well, he's quadrupled his goal scoring in that league already from what he scored in the whole of last season for Ross County, got 2 last season and already got 8 this season.

 

Said this loads of times when Irvines been brought up. He wouldn't improve us and would still struggle to get a chance.

Happy the lads doing well but as you say we can't hold on to every decent player that comes through. They need to be exceptional like Tierney to transition or maybe have a bit of luck on their side to get a chance and take it as McGregor did.
