Does Celtic know about you. Could have saved a load of money and not bothered with Brendan Rodgers.:31:

He's a level above just now because he was comfortable in the Champions League, which we haven't seen Griffiths in yet.

    No fault of Leigh's that.

People berate others for supposedly overrating Griffiths but the same was and still IS done with Hooper.

He got 2 CL goals, both against Spartak. Not 10, not 20, 2.

One of which was thanks to an absolute howler by their CB Insurallde, remember it like it was yesterday. Brilliant night.

Anyway, the fact is, as Sean said last page, Griffiths hasn't even been given the chance yet to prove himself and he is being written off.

I'm not belittling Hooper's goals or anything either before anyone starts. However some need a reality check in terms of how good he actually was and his impact in Europe. He could lead the line better than Griff but they are different in style as you say and Gary had attributes that made him more attractive as a lone striker option.

And what's hopper done since went to Norwich in premiership sweet f all. What he do for Sheffield Wednesday in championship sweet f all. Griffiths is much better striker. Than hopper was I love Griffiths he won't be dropped that's for sure and shouldn't be not for what he has done so far in hoops career and he will only get better and better and brendan

Hooper is a better player than Griffiths. How anyone can even dispute that baffles me.

For the record, when wolves gave Griffiths a chance, I'm sure he scored about 13 goals in 30 appearances...

I'm not even sure I agree tbh. He did well against Spartak, who in all honestly were a shambles defensively. But was he really that good against anyone else? I actually can't remember so it's a serious question.

I think Griffiths has some attributes that are way beyond Hooper and vice versa. I certainly wouldn't swap them

I agree with all of this tbh. I loved Hooper but I think he's sometimes romanticised a wee bit too much. I have vivid memories of people slating him for not trying hard enough and angling for a move.

Did you just claim a goal against Sevco to try and back your point? A goal against a Sevco managed under McDowall? That Sevco??!!

you're blinded by numbers..since when was football all about the stats?

Hooper was a way better footballer, if he had Griffiths' commitment he probably would've been a top premier league striker.

    But he doesn't and isn't.

    He's at Sheffield Wednesday.

We seen Griff play 80 mins against Inter and have no impact, we seen Guidetti come on for him with 10 mins against them and got us the equaliser out of nothing. That's what quality above Griffiths gets you.

Btw this is getting out of hand and I realise that, people are acting like I'm a Griffiths hater and wild stuff like this when I'm nothing of the sort. I respect his goal tally last season, I respect him as a good enough footballer for us as a back up. I just don't want him to be our number 1 striker this coming season. I don't see anything wrong with that. We can and should be aiming higher.
