Your Favourite Celtic Player when you were 15/16 years old??

Larsson, just wish i was a bit older to truly appreciate what we had

 

Was only 2 years ago so between Virgil/Wnayama/Lustig and even Matthews

 

Di Canio for me. Copied his style of play and everything.

 

15 in 1970 . If you look at the team for the European cup final , you will see how hard it was to pick one but I always liked Bobby lennox

 

it's weird I forget their is a new generation of fans coming through that didn't see larsson or experience the uefa cup final, first hand, I kinda just take it as a given that we all went through that in a way

 

Tommy Burns or Roy Aitken, with a sneaking admiration for Peter Latchford as we were both English goalkeepers

 

In hindsight Larsson was clearly the best player when I was that age. And as King of Kings said I don't think I understood just how lucky we were to have that level of player until he was gone. My favourite player though was Lubo. A genius with perfect balance who just glided about the pitch and had phenomenal technical ability. I was 16 when I watched him tear Juventus to shreds in that 4-3 game in 2001. I think he was 37 and he was turning the Juve defence inside out, had a hand in all the goals and I believe he nutmegged the legendary Pavel Nedved. What a player!

What happened to your picture of the zombie thing with the hun top?

 

It was removed by staff, so many on here didnt like it and were obviously offended, so i now have new one which i hope will not cause offence!... Its a recent image of an Anderson shelter from WW2, off course the door is not the original entrance to the shelter!

 

Oh, it was t a Zombie, it was DAVROS, from DR WHO! He was the Doctors most hidious and evil enemy!

15/16 for me was during the 'stopping the 10' season so Henrik (my absolute hero!!) was only starting out, although already making his mark.

I had always favoured and idolised strikers or attacking players but it was during this period that I found myself worshipping a defender, namely Alan Stubbs. A tough tackling, no nonsense center back that could play too. Him scoring an injury time equaliser past Goram on my first derby game went a big way in that I'm sure.....a moment I'll never forget!!!!

 

For some of us old Fuxxxrs cant remember that far back lol ! I was 15 in 1981 and was unfortunate enough to have Prince Charlie and Di marry on my birthday lol! Always Loved Danny the great McGrain and Charlie Nick(* now mind you)

Hmmm, not sure if I really had a fav, Paul McStay probably around 87/88 time although he was more the best player, liked a few such as Stark, McCarthy, McAvennie.
