I think it just makes sense for Jozo and Erik to be the first choice pairing.

Boyata has had plenty of 'Efe' moments, while Jozo has been steadier.

True, might just need to keep playing games and adapt to the pace a bit more. Said it last week but I feel like Tierney's attacking side hasn't been on display as much the last month or so. In his first few games he seemed to be getting forward constantly and putting in good crosses/having a few digs. But not seen much of that recently.

Fenerbache at home, if I remember right, at time's he was almost playing as a winger, and unlucky not to score when waltzing in to the box. So he's definitely got it. Played as a left winger for a lot of his youth football day's anyway..

I agree about not changing our formation and putting guy's like Izzy back in to accommodate, when Tierney has been a revelation..

It really is that cut and dry (just now). Simunovic is making less costly mistakes, and we feel more comfortable with him in the side. Although I do like Boyata, he has real qualities to make it here..

There is no evidence that Ronny will stray away from his 4-2-3-1 system he has the personnel already for 3-5-2 to experiment with.

Boyata was playing well before his injury too..

Sviatchenko will need time to get up to speed and settle..

And if Efe continues to play as well, then why would he be dropped?

We've got competition and depth which is great.

We need that depth at DM now.. But promising signs..:50:

3 at the back would work pretty well given the options we have at wing-back. Tierney and Janko both good in those roles.

I'd like to see Ambrose and Sviatchenko play together but we all know Jozo and Erik will be first choice.

Bet Boyata didn't expect this when he signed. What about Mulchenko? Or Mulnovic?

Looks like im in a minority here but boyacenko it is for me. Thats if sviatcenko is better than what we have already. I thought boyata was really coming onto a game before the injury and though jozo has looked good at times im not all that convinced on him. Hes very young though so plenty of potential but for me boyata and sviatcenko should be the pair.

I would imagine it will be Jozo and Erik unless we go 3 at the back.

Just pleased we have options now. Hopefully we don't * about too long figuring out who is best though.

Give the new guy 7/8 games then decide if he is displacing Efe.

I think Boyata is worse than Jozo and the Danish guy.
I am not too hot on Boyata, same for Ambrose.

I find this thread embarrassing when the new signing hasn't had game time.....

He comes with a better pedigree than any of our other defenders. It's all about opinions. Embarrassing is an overstatement.

Because hes came with 'pedigree' its made people determine that he should be a first team starter without pulling on our jersey and putting in a shift? :smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002:

Jesus, no wonder we are in the mess we are in now while some give it legitimacy through illogical reason.

Of course he should pull on our jersey and put in a shift. He needs to be a first team starter to do that :56: You're trying too hard in an effort to go against the grain.

The question was, "who do you think our CB pairing will be?". He was obviously bought for a reason so I don't think it's unfair to suggest that he will be part of our centre back pairing unless it all goes horribly wrong.
