Last thing I'd want to be envisaging before I go out to play sport is an 80 odd year old hag.

No wonder they're pish at everything.

Fine by me, if it gives a sportsperson that extra incentive to do there best then dont see a problem with them being used at sporting events. No keen on the way they now do it at Hampden, inviting some * fae showbiz world to sing it. Just give me a good old fashioned pipe band, goosebumps.
As for others, love hearing the Welsh fans singing theres.

Don't mind them, although my country's anthem must be one of the most terrible out there.

Agree, im not into countries or National anthems either.

Our planet is tiny really, only takes 1 day to go basically anywhere you want so it shouldnt be restricted and divided up as much as it is, where some places there is a lot of hassle to get into because your countries might no get along that well.

    Flying though :icon_mrgreen:

Like you could be sitting on your couch in Glasgow as I am the now and if I wanted to be outside the Maracana stadium in Brazil by 24 hours I could or some place in the middle of Kazakhstan or anywhere.

Nationalism and all that will probably die away a fair bit over the coming 100s of years with the internet.

Would be interesting to see like 500 year into the future for a day just to see how everythings changed, like accents will probably die away a lot as well, maybe even some languages could see a lot of people learning English and using it more than their own languages which will end up becoming their 2nd languages or never being used.

ex Serbian manager Sinisa Mihajlovic has banished Fiorentina (Roma now) midfielder Adem Ljajic from his squad for not singing the anthem in his time with the national team.

That is disgraceful, but i kind of understand it happening in that part of the world.....but Yugoslavia in general should be held up as an example of how poisonous nationalism actually is and of how dangerous it can get.
