Thy isn't a bad player, but not great either. He does a decent job for St Pauli but wouldn't bring much to this Celtic team. If we're after a tall striker, he might tick the box, but he's not strong another to be that type of player. He can be ok on the wing at times, mind. He'll be a similar type player to Samaras if we sign him.

I'd sooner we got Halstenberg, Choi (on potential alone) or even Seb Maier before Thy.

I guess if he's injured, it's known as a Thy injury then?

4 goals in a single game, not bad.

He is a good player and wouldn't mind getting him for free but *, we signed 4 strikers in the last two seasons and we only play with one. Why did we get Cole right now when we knew there was a better one lined up?

    Not for this at all.

As I said before, he has 15 goals in 92 games, 5 in 16 this year, which isn't that impressive either.

Granted I've only seen him once briefly for them but his record doesn't suggest natural goalscorer.

He isn't a natural goal scorer. He's a tall striker that would be best playing alongside a smaller, quicker player.

I couldn't see him up top on his own in Deila's team.

So pointless signing then with how we play.

Couldn't * believe this when I saw it.

This might sound daft but I played as St Pauli in Fifa 2012 and this guy was my star striker and catapulted us into the Busdisliga and the German cup final. I ended up selling him for over 10 million to Man City and buying Wilfried Bony from Vitesse, how very ironic that was in hindsight...

Anyway I'm all for this, welcome to Celtic Thyroid.

We are woeful at signing strikers. Any time we put out decent money the guy is mince. I haven't seen this lad play, but surely loads of you back home would have seen enough of him to know.

The article referred to us looking at Carlton which happened so this is probably dead.

Tall with an abysmal goalscoring record - and almost out of contract ? Sounds like a striker we would be very much interested in .
