UEFA doing everything they can to ensure no non cash rich clubs get to the group stages. Champions League is a bore a * now. Same teams from the same countries getting through every year.

How the * does a play off in a knock out part of a tournament work?

not disputing that but i would trade a bit of this for some decent final distribution.

That was a bit tense at times but the team worked hard and didn't look in real danger 99% of the time. I just always worry about that 1% and traditional crappy strokes of luck in Europe but screw that noise this year. Guaranteed European football this season. Yasss!

I was waxing lyrical about him to my old man just then. Coolest man on the park, a bit too much at the end on our own bye line but he was terrific in the middle, effortless..

Get in, that'll do, a dodgy trip passed with minimal fuss. Possibly and hopefully our hardest game qualifying this year..

I'm confused by the whole concept of the "champions"league now after the next qualifier if we win that do we the proceed to the group stage draw or do we have to play another qualifier after that, plus Man City a team that has done * all in europe have managed to finish second in there league yet go straight in how does that work out.

    That was absolutely nerve wrecking.

    Gordon - Brilliant
    Lustig - Brilliant
    Boyata - good
    Virgil - Brilliant
    Izzy - Brilliant
    Brown - Brilliant
    Bitton - Brilliant
Johansen - Very good, slightly dodgy going forward
GMS - Worked his * off defensively. Poor going forward
Armstrong - Very good shift from him
Ciftci - Good effort. Expecting improvement from him but can't complain with that performance considering the job in hand.

Forrest was good off the bench, Griffiths worked his * off which is all you can ask from him at that stage in the match. Commons was pretty useless.

    Job well done.

Heard one of the commentators/pundits saying on TV that no one will remember how we got to the group stages if we do get there, and he was exactly right.

Not a vintage Celtic performance by any means, but we matched them every step of the way, kept the door shut, and even had a few chances of our own to kill the tie.

On to the final round :50:

Oh and Nirlo is an absolute magician. We're unbelievably lucky to have him.
