The Soldier's Song was written in English.

Would you rather tens of thousands of Glaswegians murdered Amhrán ma bhFiann in butchered Irish? :icon_mrgreen:

Would be great to hear it if it were done properly though.

I don't see where the problem lies. English belongs to the Irish as much as it does to us, even if it's not native to the island. You've a rich musical and literary tradition in the English language (Joyce, Wilde, et al.) and we're conversing in English, so I think it's a stretch to say that The Soldier's Song being sung in English is an insult. Singing The Soldier's Song where singing the national anthem, Amhrán na bhFiann, is appropriate might be insulting but I consider them to be two different songs. There's nothing wrong with singing in English at Celtic Park.

Tbh the only reason why I like it in Irish is because it's the closest I'll ever come to speaking it haha I'm also used to just singing it in Irish because I go the hill more then Parkhead same when everyone sings come on yea bhoys in green it just feels weird to me over me being well more used to singing come on you boys in blue
