Glasgow North-East looks like it'll remain a Labour seat in 2015 and from the looks of the graphic below, they'd have a couple of seats in Glasgow in 2016 (if Higher Geography serves me well :smiley-laughing002:).

It's a majority independentist city and one of the worst areas of deprivation in Britain. Labour shouldn't have a prayer in Glasgow. Am I missing something?

You might still find those who are set in their ways and probably some who don't think snp can do much at WM. Just a couple of possible reasons.

Personally sickened by labour and hope they do a sevco

Disillusioned by Labour as no doubt a lot of my generation are now. Not much different from the Tories now. Really do not know who to vote in this election. I don't trust snp either to be honest.

Too many vote Labour because they always have and are too stubborn. Had this debate with a guy in his early 50s from Manchester before the referendum who was voting No mainly because it was Labour policy, if they came out for Yes I think he'd have voted Yes

I think this is pretty much it. That is the main reason for most voting Labour nowadays in my opinion.

A lot of bitteraties getting their knickers in a twist here!:smiley-laughing002:

FFs, the incumbent had a 68% share of the vote compared to the SNP's 14% as recently as the 2010 election.......and just because he appears to have a good chance of holding on to the seat, all of a sudden the bitter snipes come out in force......like all of you are in some club where only you know best and everyone else is a * eh?

There is a lot more chance that people believe in their wee * because their father did than of them voting the same as their father did.
Many people who voted Yes, did so on the back of a wave of patriotism, and now the dust has settled a bit, they will vote for maybe the individual, maybe the party, or maybe to prevent the Tories getting in.(yes, that is a reasonable assumption regardless of the propaganda).
I havent voted Labour for a long time, maybe 15 or 20 years, but i will be voting for them this time.Perhaps many others like me who previously voted LibDem and will not vote them anymore, see Labour as the next best alternative....no?

Nah, that cant be it.....it must be everything you guys all said.

    Jim Murphy's charismatic leadership.

Labour parrot it cause they know it works but 'Vote SNP & get Tory'.

Im not a fan of Murphy, but i hate Salmond more, and the day Sturgeon is the leader of my country, is the day i will consider moving.

Shocks me the number of Celtic fans willing to vote SNP more than I'm shocked at Labour holding on to areas of Glasgow which were strongholds at the last election.
