10/10 Celtic/USA. Lots of parallels between the two sides - dominant in the home league/confederation, outsized but plucky in the CL/WC.

Celtic is my constant. But actually watching the games I get just as excited about Scotland games.

Would celebrate a famous Scotland win as I would a Celtic one.

Can't believe people are putting their national team so high, it's one or those, if they win, you enjoy it, if they don't it's, ah well, but when any of my club sides lose I'm gutted till they next win, so about a 10 - 4 for me

Going through one of these phases where football takes a bit of a back seat. No real reason, still watch highlights of games etc but don't go out my way to find a stream & wouldn't put £30 in the pockets of the Celtic board.

It's an absolutely horrible feeling when you lose a big Euro/WC qualifier that effectively ends your chances of playing in that tournament for 4 years.

When we were beat by Henry's handball it was up there with the sickest I've been after a football match, probably behind the 2005 final day, and one or two others watching Celtic but not many.

How * Ireland were at Euro 2012 still gets to me aswell.

Country 10 Celtic 10 normally. Sometimes I would rate Country higher, for example in the qualifiers we are playing in now, its more important for a country win than Celtic winning in the league.

It's not so bad If you take the sensible logic, Ireland are never going to win a major football tournament, you never get disappointed

Feel exactly the same, mate. :50:

Ireland 10 for me. Started following the US, too. I'd give them a 7.

Since Dub is asking: Armagh get a 9. I do care enough about them to give them a 10, but gotta dock myself a point for not following the non-Championship games as closely each year. :smiley-laughing002:

Celtic are a 10 (goes without saying).

To answer the question. It is easily club first for me. Sure I support Ireland always but Celtic comes first. Instead of a number I would put it like this. If I had a choice Celtic could win the Champions league or Ireland could win the World Cup I would take Celtic and the Champions League no hesitation.

Apologies for the delay, just noticed your quote. Lets be honest, we are spoiled in that we are guaranteed success without much competition just now. So I understand how it is easy just to shrug off dropped points as we will win the league anyway.

I do this as well, a while after the game. But if we are playing poorly, I definitely get more frustrated than if I was watching Scotland not doing well. Part of it is I feel more of a connection with Celtic than Scotland as club football happens almost every week. Another reason is due to expectations. Naturally we expect to do well in most games so I can get more agitated if Celtic are losing as we are the favourites in most games whereas if Scotland don't play well, I am not as bothered as in a lot of games any win is a bonus.

Change this a little bothered bordering on quite interested for the Scotland game at least.
